The Gateway to the Himalayas - Rishikesh

Rishikesh is a land of Gods and a place of ultimate comfort and calm. Rishikesh is truly a place for everyone who is in search for spirituality and eternal peace. The impressive view of beautiful mountains, river of the pure and devotional Ganges and comfortable tranquility surrounding the area makes Rishikesh a one-stop place for tourists of the country and the ones who have Indian visa. Rishikesh is not only one of the top places on the tourist maps but jades every small tendency of touring and exploring in a position of northern Indian. Along with this comes a marvelous package of adventure offering exciting sports such as gliding, river-rafting and more.

Laxman Jhula: A major tourist spot for the Indians to halt first is the impressively constructed Lakshman Jhula. A suspension iron bridge over the halcyon Ganges offers glorious views of the complete station around it. A quiet walk for a few minutes past this bridge will make the tourist journey a revitalizing and nostalgic. Another suspended bridge between Sawarg Ashram and Sivanand Ashram is the Ram Jhula, prodigiously named after mythological and adoration Lord Rama, the elder brother of Lakshman from the epical Ramayana.

Bharat Mandir: Moving back to the 12th century, this architectural luster was built by Adiguru Shankaracharya, one of the famous Hindu guru. Inside this rests the single-stone carved idol of Lord Vishnu and is worshiped by many devotees. The land site of this famous temple hold digs ranging from pots, coins, statues to other important objects of monumental past.

Rishi Kund: The popular caption of River Goddess Yamuna filling this tank with water, after having being amused by saint Kubz surrounds this mysterious beauty of this water body.

Nilkanth Mahadeo: Once again a story from famous epic attracts this divine site when lord Shiva draught the poison that came out amongst other elements from churning the ocean, which once upon a time survived here.

Ashrams: The ashrams surrounded all over Rishikesh are centre of attraction for many tourist as they offer spiritual teaching, yoga classes, stay and food and much more. The tourist has plenty of space to detect his own self along with the environment.

Triveni Ghat: This is one of the divine places where the tourist crowd to take a holy dip in the river water. The tourist attend one of the monolithic conducted prayers at this ghat to view a glorious sight of the evening lighted thousands of lamps and soul evoking chants. Even a 30 minute peaceful movement at the riverside is a soulful experience for the tourists Flight Tickets .

How to Reach Air: The closest airport from Rishikesh is the Jolly Grant airport at a distance of 12 km. You can get Cheap Air Tickets from travel companies. They also help you to provide hotel stay at the nearby places Domestic Air Tickets . Rail: Rishikesh has a railway station of its own, not many trains ply this station. Better option of getting to Rishikesh would be get down at Haridwar, which is a leading railway station and located at distance of 25 km. Road: Rishikesh is well connected by roads with all the major cities of the state as well as Delhi which is at a distance of 230 km. There are taxis as well as buses available easily from all the leading places in India.
