Have someone besides mom introduce the baby to a bottle if needed. A baby who is being breastfeed will be less likely to take a bottle from the mother as they want what they are used to. The process will go much smoother if a dad or other caregiver gets the baby used to a bottle. In order to have a proper developing toddler, it is important that they get many hours of social interaction. A great idea to get this done is for them to enter a preschool. This way, they can meet other children their age and build their knowledge basis at the same time. When your child is acting up, trying giving them a second chance instead of punishing them right away. This can be done by simply asking your child to "please make a different choice. This allows your child to correct himself or herself and avoids the negative feelings resulting from more forceful discipline. When trying to potty train your child, it is advised that you give them a reward each time they successfully use the toilet. This reward can be their favorite food or candy, a sticker, or anything else they enjoy. By doing this, they will be encouraged to consistently use the potty. Rather than focusing on punishment to change your childs behavior, put more focus on reinforcing good behavior. By complimenting or rewarding (within reason) your child for good behavior, your child will learn that a specific behavior or way of acting is worthy of merit, and may seek to please you by repeating it in the future. Use clothes or items from the mother to wrap a bottle in if the baby is having trouble getting used to drinking from it. The smell of mom in the clothing will help calm the baby because he will associate it with his mother, thus making him more likely to give it a try. Do not let your children take advantage of you. Do not let them have anything they want. Spoiling your children will cause them to grow up thinking they can have whatever they want. Instead, award them when they have done something good, and make sure to give them lots of praise. Let the baby nurse as long as he is still actively sucking with deep drawn motions. If the baby starts to slow down, hold down on your breast for a few seconds to release more milk. If he is still hungry, this will get him going again. If he does not respond then try switching sides as he may have emptied that breast. If your child has figured out how to unzip their pajamas at night, buy the kind without the feet on them. Put them on your child backwards. He will not be able to reach the zipper, so he will not be able to take his clothes off. This will lead to a better nights sleep for everyone in the family. If you are the parent of a preteen girl, it is very important that you talk to them about menstrual cycles at an early enough age. If you do not explain menstrual cycles and to them, they will be confused when they begin having it and they may even be scared. While the advice of close friends and family can be very helpful, you dont need to listen to the unsolicited tips from every aunt, cousin and coworker. Of course they may mean well, but at the end of the day the child is yours. The same goes for parenting tips from any other source, take them with a grain of salt. In conclusion, our children learn to be productive well-adjusted adults by following our lead. We show them responsibility by being responsible ourselves. We demonstrate the importance of love and nurturing by providing it to them. They learn because we teach. The tips provided above help us be the teachers we need to be. Shop for your baby
