Fragrances in Perfumes Can Greatly Attract Mosquito

Environment,Health,Family & Parenting
There is a variety of repellents on the market that promise to be natural mosquito repellents. Like everything else in life, some of these products work better than others. With repellents, they either work or they don't--there's no in between. If you are sitting outside by a fire, you likely don't care which method is used, so long as the bugs go away and stay away. And what about entertaining guests? There's nothing more embarrassing than when they're slapping themselves in pain from continuous bites. Using a natural mosquito repellent, alongside some good practical tips, can be the best way to avoid any type of mosquito bite. It is important to keep in mind that mosquitoes are not only bothersome, but some also contain the West Nile virus, which can be fatal for humans.

There are many natural mosquito repellent products on the market. Some work on ultrasonic waves; others are sprays or lotions you apply on your body. Still, others are not natural at all but chemical-based. You can also find candles containing natural ingredients that repel mosquitoes, such as those that contain citronella oil. There are often a few options to consider that consist of all-natural ingredients, some of which can be found right in your pantry. Here are some natural oils that are known to be helpful at repelling mosquitoes:

Lemon Eucalyptus Oil Castor Oil Cedar Oil Peppermint Oil Rosemary Oil Clove Oil Geranium Oil Cinnamon Oil Lemongrass Oil If you are allergic to any of these, you should not use them. To work as a natural mosquito repellent, you will need to apply these oils to your exposed skin more often than you would chemical-based products. You will want to apply them at least once every two to three hours to achieve the best result. Also, keep in mind that there are many different species of mosquitoes and therefore, some of these natural mosquito repellent products will not work. The combination of both of these methods can work well as natural mosquito control. Avoid as many natural attractants as possible. While difficult, you can win the war against annoying little mosquitoes--the natural way!

Tips for Natural Mosquito Control There are several things you can do that will help keep mosquitoes away. The process starts by avoiding products that attract the bugs in the first place. The following are some of the most common mosquito attractants.

Fragrances, especially floral and fruity ones, attract mosquitoes. You will find these in hair products, perfumes and colognes, and deodorants. All are enticing for mosquitoes. Dark clothing also attracts mosquitoes. Wear lighter colors to keep them away. Lactic acid is another problem. Your body produces it naturally, especially when you are eating salty or high-potassium foods, or whenever you exercise. Carbon dioxide is yet another problem, especially when you are giving off more than usual. This happens when you are hot. However, also note that if you have a candle or a fire burning, it gives off larger amounts of carbon dioxide, attracting mosquitoes to you. Some of these you may be unable to avoid. So, instead of just focusing on natural mosquito control in the form of avoiding attractants, also look for ways to repel them.
