Potosi is a city in Bolivia. It is one of the highest cities in the world by elevation at 13,420 ft and it was the location of the Spanish colonial mint. There are many attractions in Potosi which are worth visiting. The attractions in Potosi have attracted visitors from various parts of the world.

There are many colonial churches located all round the city. The St. James Catholic Church founded in the year of 1829 is one of the popular Tourist Attractions in Potosi. Building of the St. James Catholic Church features Gothic architecture. The Santa Teresa church and convent can also be toured as a part of your Potosi tours. In this church the nuns were buried. Another reputed Church of the area is the First Baptist Church of Potosi. This church spreads Gospel message of Jesus Christ to the people. The other celebrated Tourist Attractions in Potosi is the Cerro Rico. This venue is the conical barren hill which is known for its silver ore. Positioned at a distance of 4824 meters from the sea level, this venue is toured by large number of tourists. On your visit to this place you can enjoy mining. The royal Mint can also be toured while you embark on a tour to Cerro Rico. On your visit to Cerro Rico you can see rooms which proudly exhibit silver craft ware and coins. Visit the La Casa de la Moneda, Potosi which is also counted as a popular Tourist Attractions in Potosi. The architect Salvador de Vila constructed the beautiful building of the La Casa de la Moneda in Potosi. Get to see paintings, furniture and sculptures in this place. Pay a visit to the Cerro Rico de Potosi or the Magnifent Mountain or Sumaj Orcko. Located in Potosi, the Sumaj Orcko has one of the biggest mines in its interior, called the Pailaviri mine. Sumaj Orcko is of great importance to the tourists coming to this city. Potosi's tour package also include visiting the Casa de la Moneda, built in 1753 is at present one of the most important repositories of history of the colonial mining extractions. In the Casa de la Moneda, you will get to see opened halls with re-constructed sceneries of the typical environment of that epoch. There are other halls that represent the colonial and republican paintings, indigenous textiles, typical costumes of the communities and testimonies of Guerra Del Chaco or the Chaco War against Paraguay.
