Organizing
An organization is a perfect blend of several components that act together as a cohesive unit. The individual developments of these components contribute to the organizational development. These development activities are long-term activities which are geared towards problem –solving, increasing the production and a better output.

There are various factors that play positive and negative roles in the development of an organization. Human resource management can positively or negatively impact the development of an organization. It is the sole responsibility of the HR department in hiring the right talent, keeping the attrition at the minimum level and also in keeping the employees engaged, that helps in the development of the organization. The ultimate challenge faced by the top management of an organization in a competitive environment is to achieve breakthrough performance. Many organizations strive hard to achieve this on a sustainable basis.

The development of business reaches stagnancy due to bigger competitive marketplace challenges. Under such situations, an organization generally undertakes a change process that includes a series of changes to bring about organizational development and improvement. The aim of organizational development is to explore, evaluate and nurturing the processes, systems, policies and sub –systems for an ultimate high performance. This helps in positioning their organizations in an effective manner. Organizational development has been recognized as an important business discipline worldwide and is also a part of the course curriculum of major business schools the world over. Successful organizations understand the importance of managing all the resource pools of the organization. Efficient management of resources combined with cutting-edge corporate culture are the reasons for success of these organizations.

When the principles of organizational development are practiced, the results are evaluated over time as the organizational performance increases slowly and steadily. Organizational improvement starts with the restructuring of the organizational goals and visions to developing innovative strategies.

These development practices increase the productivity and the sales margins. The assessment of organizational development not just includes its employees, but also the managers at all the levels. The development process begins by identifying and establishing connections with important members of the organization.

The development experts research the existing systems and policies for any discrepancies. This is followed by brainstorming sessions and approaches for problem –solving and transforming the organization. Once the new techniques have been applied, the results are monitored to gauge the success of the approach.

In case of growing competition and market fluctuations, the practice of organizational development teaches the employees to manage their resources better by preparing them for marketplace and workplace challenges. These development practices make changes easier to adapt and beneficial for the organization.

Organizational development is a long-term activity intended for increased outputs and better results by streamlining critical processes and systems. HR department has a critical role in organizational development as the right employees contribute largely to the success of an organization. Organizational development management is recognized as an important part of the management curriculum.
