There are all sorts of children behaviors that we don't like as adults. But it is our job as adults to take care of those children behavior problems so that they grow to become good members of society. So, what are some of the common behavior problems in children that you might need to fix and how do you fix them? The first one will be physical actions hitting or biting. The big thing that you will see is that some parents tell the children to hit or bite back when they are dissatisfied or unhappy. This is definitely not the right way to do this. You are consciously teaching them that hitting and biting is a way to get what they want. Instead, when you are addressing this behavior, you should tell them to act nicely instead of violently. Teach them to give hugs, not hits. You might want to put them in time out if they misbehave. The next thing when it comes to children behavior problems would be if they are using words that they should not be using. The thing that most parents do is to wash their mouth out with soap. Do remember that you are putting something that shouldn't be ingested into their mouth. Again, you are teaching them something bad. Another way that most parents use to discipline their kids is by spanking them. Instead, teach them what grown up words are. Take a toy away so they get the idea that if they use foul words, then you are going to take something that they love away. If they get allowance, you can tell them to put some of their pocket money into a ‘cuss jar’ and then you do the same when you say those words so that they can see that it is also bad for adults to use foul language. Another behavior problem that we often times see is children throwing a fit when they don't get what they want, whether it is at home or in a store. They need to know that this behavior will not be tolerated. If they want to throw a fit take them out of the store. My mother used to tell me that if we embarrassed her in the store, then she would not take us out in the future. Some parents bribe them by giving things that they want provided they behave. This will teach children to act good just for a reward that is promised. Some have to also deal with behavior problems where the children just do not want to go to bed. They keep running out. The best way to address this is to keep putting them back to bed. The first two times when you place them back in their bed you tell them it's time for bed. Any time after that you keep putting them back and you say nothing to them. You lay them back down and then leave. The reason why most children act like this is because they want attention. The last type of children behavior problems is that they might not eat. They might refuse to eat what you make and insist on having something else. You have to set the limits. The best way to do this is by going about to make them sit at the table until they have eaten some of the food. You shouldn't have to make two or three meals just to suit their demands.
