Overseas volunteering programs provide excellent opportunity for the volunteers to venture far off lands and know about it. The volunteers participating in the overseas programs get to know about a different culture and how life finds its own way in challenging situations. They also learn a lot about traditions and culture of the place they are stationed during the volunteering program. Tanzania is one such destination that offers a mix of picturesque locations and opportunity to contribute through volunteering programs. There are several types of programs for Tanzania that a volunteer can choose from. However, Environment & Wildlife related programs are preferred by maximum volunteers. Out of many programs that are based on wildlife and environment, one of the popular destinations happens to be that of Uchira. This program has two major tasks to accomplish and also has lots of fun and adventure packed in it. The first three weeks of the program require volunteers to participate in community conservation. It requires working with a local NGO in the foothills of Kilimanjaro. The tasks performed in these three weeks focuses on developing agricultural practices and also focus on conservation practices. After the tiring schedule of three weeks, they are taken to Arusha, which is also famous as the safari capital of the world. The volunteers find relief in the safari package. It requires volunteers to do nothing, but only to enjoy the instilled fun. The second phase of the program includes several tasks. To teach English to the underprivileged children, surveying the area and working with the local orphanage are some of them. In this phase, volunteers need to work closely with people from Maasai community. Wildlife surveying is one of the most adventures part of this volunteer programs overseas. In the last week of the program there is no task that is related to environment and wildlife conservation. Rather it is again a time to reap the reward o fall the hard work that the volunteers have contributed throughout the program. Generally, such programs consider volunteers that fulfill certain special prerequisites. However, to participate in volunteer programs overseas for Tanzania, there are no such special requirements. But it is better that volunteers that have good fitness level participate in these programs, since the programs require a lot of field work and thus a food fitness level is desirable of the volunteers. All the more, the weather in Tanzania is not the best and thus volunteers with good fitness level are the one who can enjoy the program.
