Every fifteenth day of the eighth month in the Chinese lunar calendar, people are celebrating The Mid-Autumn Festival that usually called as Chinese Lantern Festival. This famous festival happens on the full moon at the end of September or earlier in October.

Since years ago Mid-Autumn Festival is the most waited occasion in China, It's a different occasion from Chinese New Year and Winter Solstice but it's celebrated and become a national holiday in some nations. Since a long time ago farmers bring the joy to Mid-Autumn festival for having great harvest end results. All the family members and friends are celebrating the night by enjoying the beautiful full moon by eating moon cakes and pomelos.

Overthrow connected with Mongolian concept This festival has been said as to remember the people in China who fought against the Yuan Dynasty of the Mongolian in the 14th century. It's very difficult at that moment to arrange a strategy as the Mongolians didn't allow people's meeting.

The rebel frontrunners had an idea to make the Moon Festival as the right time to fight since no Mongolians celebrate the event by eating mooncakes. The rebels sent out moon cakes to the citizens in town that has a tiny paper in each of the moon cakes with a message: "Kill the Mongolians on the 15th day of the 8th month. inch

The rebels effectively strike out and defeated the Mongolians when Mid-Autumn Festival was being held. After the Mongolians was defeated and then the time the Ming Dynasty was being establis hed (1368-1644). Carrying on with the victory, Chinese people celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival by eating mooncakes until today.

Mid-Autumn Festival with Liverpool The main place that held the Moon Festival is Gerrard Street in London and a lot of orange lanterns bright up the festivity in Chinatown. Excitedly the local Chinese people and the touris t from outside the country take part in this biggest occasion of the year. Many children were wearing the traditional bright coloured Chinese costumes and they look pretty in them. All the kids who come to the the occasion are being cute wearing the traditional Chinese clothes.

The well-known lion dance always be the opening ceremony attraction at 1.00 PM on the stage built up on Macclesfield Street. More attraction after lion dance there are some traditional and contemporer such as martial arts, Chinese traditional music, hip-hop dance and Hong Kong Canto-Pop.

The participants of the occasion will get a prize to answer some quiz or giving their greatest performances. Also food bazzar, classes to make candy and noodle and also to win a chopsticks challenge. A lot of special prices are provided for Chinese food menus and restaurants are taking part in the London Restaurant Festival.

At some places Chinese stores sell all the festival ornaments and products of paper lanterns to bright up the biggest event of the year. Also we can find lion dance vigorously from shop to shop was believed to bring prosperous life in the future.

London is a kind place to celebrate the Mid Autumn Festival. People who participated in this event will not lower their spirits at the end of the occasion and keep sharing smiles and laughter.
