MLM Tips for Managing Your Downline If you expect to have success in network marketing, you can't possibly do it alone. You must have a team. And, as with any other team, your network marketing downlines insist upon some management. Left without it, that growth will presumably go nowhere or leave the business altogether. Unfortunately, though it's a simple idea to get the hang of, it isn't always that easy to successfully do. By putting into place these network marketing tips with your downline, you could develop your business faster and stronger. To begin with, you want to know the three types of distributors that represent your downline: 1. Distributors From Hell. Those are the ones that totally suck the life out of you constantly. They're the dark clouds that have no business in this business. They come to events and make a fuss. They're never without excuses. The products aren't good, their sponsor didn't call back quick enough for them. You name it, they'll moan about it. They will take up all of your time if you let them. The smartest recommendation is to not recruit them at all. But if they weasel their way in to get in your downline, DO NOT spend too much of your time on them. Don't get sucked into such a trap! You can't possibly fix people like this. Never. 2. The Rank and File Downline Distributors. By far, the largest quantity of your associates inevitably will be those who vary from minorly interested to quite motivated, but short of superstars. Which is completely fine. Together, they are the heart of your organization. So you must be wise in connection with your schedule. Provide enough support so that they have the ability to excel, but use caution not to do everything for them. Since they may not be fully skilled in network marketing, they may use you to close all their people, do all their back office work and fix all their problems. You must mentor, support and empower them, but require that they expand their own knowledge. Run team trainings and insist on webinar attendance so that they learn how to do things themselves. Be totally there for them, but keep in mind that you are not their secretary or customer service rep! 3. The Builders. These are those rare, real self starters that take control of their sales and do what it requires to make it happen, no matter what. We prize people like this. But beware! It is a regular management error to focus on the weak, as they are the ones that want the help. Builders are self-sufficient, so they don't want your constant attention, right? Wrong! A common example: You have 2 distributors in your downline for some time. Distributor A sponsored 1 person, and Distributor B brings on 5. You're working truly hard with Distributor A to get him his 2nd one, thinking that he just needs one more to get rolling. Without knowing it, you make Distributor B secondary, since she's doing fantastic and won't need any hand-holding. But think about it. If you invest your time doubling Distributor A's success, you'll add 1 distributor to your downline. Double Distributor B's success and you'll add 5. And of course, 5 new distributors building your business is more desirable than 1. Focus For Success As your downline organization builds, you will start to get busy. Focus one-on-one and give constant attention to your Builders, support and cultivate your Rank and File, be careful of your time sucking Distributors From Hell and watch your downlines grow strong.
