Running Watts The running watts of a portable generator not only affect how much power you will need to use to run the generator (whether it be battery or fuel) but it will also affect how many appliances you can run off the generator at any one time. Engine Specifications This generator from Yamaha comes with an air-cooled, single cylinder, 4-stroke engine which can produce up to 2,000 watts of electricity as mentioned above. The tank in this portable generator is quite large as it can hold 1.1 gallons of fuel. Maximum Run Time One feature which makes this generator so efficient is its Smart Throttle Load feature - this allows the generator to dynamically adjust engine speed depending on the required output which means that less fuel is burned during time of low dependance, saving fuel. The Yamaha EF2000iS can run for 10 and a half hours at 1/4 rated load and while operating in economy mode. Starting Method All you have to do to start the EF2000iS is flick the little switch on the front of the generator to "on" and then pull the draw cord to get it up and running. This definitely isn't the easiest starting method out there as it actually requires some effort to get the engine going - but it's also not the most difficult starting method either. Operating Noise Something which is very important when it comes to choosing a generator is how loud it is, so that's the next thing which I shall discuss in this Yamaha EF2000iS Review. With its perky little engine, this generator operates at 51.5-61 dBA. There are two AC outlets on this generator which are used for charging most appliances as well as a DC outlet which allows you to charge batteries as well - a very nice addition.
