Making Life A Vacation A gentleman understands how to make life a vacation. The scripture states in Proverbs 13:12, Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life. When a gentleman takes a vacation he must plan and prepare for it in advance. He must decide beforehand where he is going and what he plans to do. He spends time building excitement in his heart. A gentleman understands that when he approaches everyday life with the same passion and purpose, it is a life long vacation. He completely vacates a mundane life full of disappointments. He keeps his heart full of hope every day. He plans for success in every area. He plans for the next day before he goes to bed each night in the small things. He keeps hope alive in his heart. He follows the desires that God has placed in his heart. He never lets them fade away into the darkness of night. He walks in the light of his own heart. Everything he does, he does it as unto the Lord. He looks his best, he strives for the best and he achieves the best, not only for himself but for others as well. He loves others as he loves himself. Daily Preparation He prepares and lays out his clothes for the next day at night before he goes to bed. He makes sure his shirt is ironed, his shoes have a fresh shine, and his trousers are freshly creased. He coordinates his wardrobe. He does not take a casual look into his closet to see if he can find something to wear as he is brushing his teeth to head out the door for the day ahead of him. He starts his day off right the night before, by properly preparing his clothing and the things he knows he will need the following day. He daily prepares his heart in the same manner with the word of God fresh and crisp on his lips. He is prepared to meet the day with total victory in his heart and the best he has on his back. His appearance makes a lasting impression and his gracious words burn in the hearts of the hearers. What is he doing? He is following the Lord Christ. He is ready to impart wisdom into the hearts for whom it has been prepared of the Lord. He dwells with prudence and avoids evil inventions or devices. He takes the right path through the day. His heart is leading him in victory because he dwells with victory. The victory that overcomes his day and brings him home safely in the evening is his faith. Simplifies Life He simplifies his life by only following the desires in his heart and giving his whole heart to them. This is his tree of life. He eats from this tree day after day and night after night. His heart is continually speaking knowledge to him because he is moving in the direction God has for him. His way is the Lord's way. His delight is to do the will of Him that sent him and to finish His work. Psalm 37: 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
