What is man that thou are mindful of him or the son of man that thou visited him? These questions were asked by a certain angel in Psalms 8, quoted in Hebrews 2:6 stating, What is man that thou are mindful of him or the son of man that thou visited him. Why would an angel ask these questions? The answer is revealed in the word of God. In fact, most of the Bible is written to answer these questions. We must first understand, there were two judgments, the fall and judgment of angels, who were not offered salvation, and the fall and judgment of man, who was offered a great salvation. Upon the fall of angels, according to the book of Jude Verse 6 (referring to Genesis Chapter 6), they were judged to be bound under chains of darkness forever, with no possible redemption through repentance stating, And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication and going after strange flesh. We know of two judgments of angels in the Bible. One was when Lucifer was cast out of Heaven to the ground as lightning, of which Jesus spoke of in Luke 10:18, and was further judged as the serpent in Genesis 3:14-16. The other judgment of angels mentioned above is touched upon in the book of Genesis Chapter 6, where it states that the Sons of God (angels) took themselves wives and went into the daughters of men and produced giants, who eventually corrupted the entire earth, with the exception of Noah, who was a righteous man and preacher of righteousness, where it sorrowed God to the point that He grieved in His heart that He had made man. Where did the giants of the earth come from? They surely did not come from Adam and Eve. They were the children of fallen angels (the sons of God) and women. This is very clear in the writings of Enoch. According to the book of Enoch 6:6, this happened in the days of Jared, Enoch’s father. The word Jared means decent in Hebrew. This is when these fallen angels descended to earth, according to Enoch, and touched down on Mt. Hermon, which is taken from the Hebrew word, which means to utterly destroy. That is exactly what happen. God had to destroy the earth because of this great sin. The women had no choice, Genesis 6:2 states that the sons of God (angels) took them wives of all they chose. This happened in the fifth generation from the fall of Adam. God made man to know Him, to love Him and to have fellowship with Him. Certain angels interfered and are in chains under darkness to this day, as stated in the book of Jude, who called Enoch a prophet, taking a direct quote from his book in Enoch 1:9, concerning the judgment of the ungodly. The book of Enoch explains in more detail than Genesis the great sins of the angels in Chapters 6, 7 and 8. It gives names and which ones did what. These are the fallen angels, to whom Jude is referring, when he exhorts to contend for the faith that was once delivered to the saints, and not to end up like the fallen angels, or those men of Sodom and Gomorrha, who also went after strange flesh. We see that the great sin of these fallen angels was they went after strange flesh and taught man things that God did not want revealed. This is very clear in the book of Enoch.
