My favorite director is Tim Burton. I want him to direct my life. His trademark in film making is remarkable. It was defined as magical, disturbing and dark. Choosing who is the "geniuses" of the films would likely have a biased answers and reactions. Directors are known by their masterpieces and I guess their works is enough to be labeled as a genius. Which film directors deserve the label "genius"? George Lucas. Lucas is one of the most respected directors in the Hollywood film industry. Together with Steven Spielberg they are the key to the film evolution of the 80's. He is the man behind the great success of these two great films Star Wars and Indiana Jones. Creating these two wonderful films is quiet enough to label this man as a genius. Robert Zemeckis. His obsession with the television and films drove him to his success and become an ultimate sensational film director. During his prime he directed the Back to the Future (1985) a time travel adventure that becomes a hit in the 80's. A film that you could watch all over again until today. Terry Gilliam. Terry is becoming famous because of his early career as a fan of the popular comedy show Monty Python's Flying Circus. He achieved his biggest success with his science fiction film 12 Monkeys. It has become a box office hit starring Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Christopher Plummer. Philip Kaufman. Philip made his masterpiece in 1988. His masterpiece is "The Unbearable Lightness of Being". It was an adaptation of the novel by Milan Kundera. This was nominated as the Best Adapted Screenplay and Cinematography by the Academy. It offers a superb story about the Russian invasion of Prague in 1968. David Lynch. This man has become famous for his works such as Eraserhead and Blue Velvet. Eraserhead which was released in 1977 was his first film, it was a surreal, creepy and unusual. He attended the School of the Museum of Fine Arts. My favorite film of this genius director was Blue Velvet (my first time to see Kyle MacLachlan performance). David Lynch is known by his concept which was talking about the "diseases of the society".
