Mark 11:17, And he (Jesus) taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? I did a search on the term, “house of worship”. There was not one place in the Bible where the house of the Lord is called a house of worship. It is "the house of prayer", in which, we hold worship services. It is the house of prayer, from which, we preach the word of God. We must allow the Lord to establish the church as, "The House of Prayer". We are kings and priests unto Him by Christ Jesus in His house of prayer. His will in earth is not happening without persevering, fervent, effectual prayer. Why? We are in warfare. We have a resister, an enemy, who always is against the will of God. We are in the midst of the kingdom of darkness, holding forth the word of light. Darkness cannot put light out when we continually hold it forth. Why are more people staying away form the house of prayer that coming to it today? The church as a whole has not lived up to its name, the house of prayer. Jesus said that His house shall be called of all people the house of prayer. It must come to pass just as he said. We will see this change when we become our name, and pray as we ought. James 5:14-18, Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord: 15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him. 16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 17 Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. The prophet did not pray a scattered prayer, but he prayed for a certain thing, that it not rain on the earth, and again that it rain on the earth. He prayed an effectual prayer fervently. The prophet Elias had to deal with his flesh, just as we do, according to James. Yet he prayed and got the results he asked of God. One righteous man’s prayer stopped rain on the earth, not just over a nation, but the earth, for three and one half years. The prayer of the same righteous man caused it to rain again on the whole earth. WOW! The prayer of faith is so powerful. Why? It allows an all powerful God to release His power to fulfill the words of the righteous. What things so ever you desire when you pray, believe that you receive them and you shall have them. Jesus told his disciples, who were amazed over what had happen to the fig tree He cursed, that if you believe, not only will you do what was done to the fig tree, but you can say to this mountain, the mountain they were presently standing on, be plucked up, and be planted in the sea, and it shall be done. (Matthew 21:21-22) They could not move the mountain, but faith opened the window for God to move it. Jesus was telling them, there is nothing that they cannot accomplish through the prayer of faith. His word is telling us the exact same thing today. This is the power which is available to one righteous man. Much more shall it be, when the house of prayer knits together in love, and prays one for another, and one with another for God to release His unlimited power and love on the earth. Ephesians 3:20, Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
