Over 230 promises were made, but only a small portion were accomplished along with a sluggish economy with massive government spending in a divided nation. America is now under the control of socialism! Does this surprise you? President Obama is the first to be elected under such circumstances (in a bad economy) but certainly not the first to create policies based on socialism in America! Back in the 1930's, the United States government decided to create programs known as the "New Deal" using taxpayers money to help the America get out of the great depression. Since then, the government has grown so enormously with its programs over the years that it is now in danger of collapsing into financial ruin in the near future! As a result, it will lower the standard of living and freedoms as we know it today! Political Wind Of Change Out of one of the most politically corrupt states in America which is Illinois were both Democrat and Republican governors were put in jail! Then along came a little known Senator who was only in his second term. He captured the attention of a nation who was looking for a change. The housing market had crashed, people were loosing jobs by the millions, Wallstreet was in a nose dive, people were loosing money in 401k and the country still had troops in war zones. With little experience compared to those before him, Obama was elected to office using the slogan, "change" and had made over numerous promises on what he would accomplish if he was elected. When Obama was elected the first time, the congress and senate were controlled by his party. This meant for the first two years, there wasn't anything republicans could do or offer for serious discussions or alternatives for getting America out of a great recession. Obama made his first mandate the stimulus money and the next mandate was expanding government controlled health care. Back in the state of Wisconsin, a little known Republican, Scott Walker who became the first conservative in the city's history to become county executive! Because union backed political officials lead by the previous county executive sweeten all their pension deals like they were robbing the bank with no resistance. Scott Walker then ran for governor and won! His first bill to balance the budget as he promised, was ACT 10. A firestorm broke out with local and national unions. Protests at the state capital were intense along with teachers leaving their jobs to go protest. What was all the fuss about? Money! The bill required 12 percent contribution toward health-care (more than half the national average) and a contribution toward their pension. What I observed was angry protesting, accusations of big business greed, and even the most surprising, denials of a budget deficit in Wisconsin! In fact, accusations expanded to Gov. Walker! Liberal MSNBC talk show host Rachel Maddow said this... "Despite what you may have heard about Wisconsin’s finances, the state is on track to have a budget surplus this year,” she said. “I am not kidding." I was amazed at this statement from the national media and one of my friends on facebook who lives in Wisconsin liked the quote and not only that but supported what Rachel Maddow said! She is one of the smartest people I have ever known but is wrong when it comes to politics and economics. Rachel Maddow also said, Walker and fellow Republicans in the Legislature gave away $140 million in business tax breaks so if there is a deficit projected of $137 million, they created it. So either Rachel Maddow got her information wrong or she was lying about the whole thing and slandering the governor in support for public unions! The tax breaks in which she refers to didn't take effect until the year after Rachel Maddow made that comment so it didn't have a budgetary impact until the next two-year budget cycle. What about her first statement, was the state budget on track for a surplus that year? The answer is, no! Would you call raiding the transportation fund which was done by the previous governor (Jim Doye), balancing a budget that would produce a surplus? The local newspaper in Milwaukee (The Journal/Sentinel) put it this way, "Next Wisconsin governor faces big deficit." Socialism Promotes Class Warfare Socialism does basically three things, one is to provide as many entitlements as possible while using class warfare as a just cause for doing so! The second is failure. Yep, that's right failure, but why? In order to create dependency on the government. Back in 2008, there was some emphasis on class warfare, but the economy was so bad, it wasn't needed. But in the second election of President Obama, the economy remained sluggish, as stated earlier in my article, "How To Prevent Another Economic Meltdown In America" the stimulus money tracked by the government's own website (recovery.gov), produces little jobs in comparison to what was spent. It was a complete failure from a business point of view for creating jobs but a victory for socialism! So we noticed more of an emphasis put on class warfare! Governor Nick Romney was attacked numerous times on the class warfare issue. This is nothing new, each election it comes up but this time it was different because it was practically the main focus for Obama's re-election rather than the economy or his numerous broken promises (like Bush Sr who had one broken promise about taxes and it cost him his re-election) along with his track record for four years! With all this hype about class warfare, did Obama's policies changed the direction of what they were claiming about class warfare? According to NYU economics professor Edward Wolff, the wealth of middle class American households is way down from 2007 to 2010; the top 1 percent, however, increased their wealth by a stunning 71 percent! To be fair, Obama's policies didn't start till Feb 2009. The housing crash was the main cause of middle class Americans loosing wealth. Hopefully in the future there will be a study on the impact of Obama's policies on the middle class from Feb 2009 to 2012 or beyond! And lastly, the third part of socialism is offering no solutions to be not dependent so much upon government. Have you ever heard of Democrats or liberals in general talking about perhaps one day a certain government program will be no longer needed because of the success of the American people? Rather, you hear the praises of the government programs and how vital it is to remain funding it for a long time! What about Bush's tax cuts? As some of you might recall, Al Gore was opposed to those cuts and so were other Democrats! It became an issue about class warfare! Here are the results of those tax cuts based on the data from the IRS. The wealthiest Americans which consist of 1% of the population paid 84 billion dollars more than they did in 2000! Their tax burden grew too, from 37 percent in 2000 to 40 percent in 2007! Not only that, but the bottom half of taxpayers paid 6 billion less while millions were taken off the tax rolls because of the doubling of the child deduction by Bush's tax cuts! Since America Is Under Socialism: What Next? Obamacare hasn't been fully felt yet until a couple of years from now. In 2014, all medical devices will be taxed on the basis of their sales not their profits. Most new medical companies do not make a profit for years before they do, this tax on sales will hurt businesses and future innovations which will favor established businesses who can afford the tax rather than small businesses with a great idea but no funds to pay the taxes once their product catches on. What next? It is basically up to the American people, who need to become more proactive than ever before. There are Americans who have great ideas to fix the country that will enhance the quality of life rather than put it on a path to destroy it! We are living in the information age and despite socialism abounding there is no reason to remain silent, and do nothing while watching your predictions come true! So contact your senator, congressmen, even the president. Let your voice be heard once again!
