We are told in the scriptures that in the last days, mockers shall come in unaware and speak evil against Christ and all that is good. The entire book of Jude is directed towards mockers. What is a mocker? A mocker is one who scorns, laughs at, resists, plays with, and imitates, truth. Take the mocking bird for an example, one of which was recorded mocking 83 different bird songs. The mocking bird has been heard mocking cats, squirrels, even the sound of a rusty gate. The bird repeats what it hears. They are aggressive birds, attacking other birds, cats and even men. Today, not only are mockers present in the church, but in political arenas, and other walks of life, repeating what they hear without having truth to prove their words. Jude said mockers would speak against things that they do not understand, having only natural knowledge, not being able to perceive the knowledge of Christ. Mockers have no understanding of the words of Jesus, saying that man shall be judged for every idle word that proceeds out of the mouth. In other words, any words that speak against Him and His cause will be judged on the Day of Judgment. Recently, in a dream, I was being resisted in my service to the Lord. It was as though I was being toyed with in a playful manner by the leader of government. I spoke directly to him and said, “You think that you know my Lord, but you don’t, you are a mocker.” Immediately, his countenance went from playful to very angry, and approached me as to do harm. Proverbs 9:7 (Hebrew Name’s Version) states, He who corrects a mocker invites insult. KJV states, Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee. As much as we would like to correct or resist the mockers, those who resist God, we are told in the scriptures not to. They are beyond man’s correction. Jude 20-23 tells how to respond to mockers, But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, 21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. 22 And of some (mockers) have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others (mockers) save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh. Proverbs 3:34 tells us that God mocks the mockers, not us. Surely he mocks the mockers, but he gives grace to the humble. (HNV) I Peter 5:5 states, God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. Galatians 6:7,states, Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. We are warned to not be deceived by mockers, to turn away from the faith, and turn back to unbelief. Mockers sound like the real thing, until compared with the real thing. Their hearts will expose them, especially to those who pray in the Holy Ghost and stay strong in faith and love. Proverbs 22:10 HNV) states, Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out; yes, quarrels and insults will stop. How do we drive out mockers? We pray them out according to Jude, we pray in the Holy Ghost. Proverbs 29:8 (HNV), Mockers stir up a city, but wise men turn away anger. How do we turn the mocker's anger? We do not rail against them or correct them, we pray in the Holy Ghost, and we pray that their eyes of understanding be enlighten that they may know the hope of their true calling of God, as opposed to the one they have chosen for themselves. This is how the body of Christ has compassion on mockers and snatches them from eternal fire, the same fire that came upon Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them. It was so important to God for the people of the last days to understand that mockers would be among us, that He spoke about them through the first known prophet, Enoch, the seventh generation from Adam, as well as in the last letter to the Church by the hand of Jude, the brother of James, giving instructions, as to what we must do to not be effected by them and to possibly save some of them from eternal judgment, also stating in his letter to the church that even the Apostles of the Lord Jesus Christ warned of the mockers that would come in the last time. All of these warnings are true and have come to pass as they were spoken and written. Mockers have been sent by the enemy to deceive away from the faith in Jesus Christ that was once delivered to the saints, according to the book of Jude. They are called raging waves of the sea, wandering stars, murmurers and complainers, speaking great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage, trees with no fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots. Jude closes his letter, giving praise to God for the power, both to save the mockers and to present the saints before Him faultless. Jude 24 (HNV), Now to him who is able to keep them from stumbling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory in great joy. fredfishburne.com
