If you have been exercising your butt out and you have been doing crunches and sit ups forever just to trim down your belly and eventually lose some excess weight, then this short writing will be of interest to you. You have to realize that the main reason that people gain weight is because of the way they eat. Having said that, you have to learn to eat right & burn fat – that is how you’ll lose weight.

How do you eat right then? The answer is actually staring you in the face – you eat right by eating a well-balanced diet! Eat the right amount of fat, carbohydrates, proteins, and all the other necessary vitamins and nutrients that your body needs.

How do you learn to eat right & burn fat? When you know how to control your eating habits you have a fairly good chance of losing weight. Being aware of the amount of calories your body needs daily to function well is important because your body needs the energy to burn fat. Nutrition experts say that the recommended daily allowance should be about 2,000. However, this is just the standard and it still depends on a lot of other factors like your age, height, and weight. It is better to consult a doctor on this.

One of the most important things you have to keep in mind is to never skip breakfast. Some people think that if they skip breakfast they will lose weight but they are wrong. This practice will only make you gain weight because you tend to binge eat during lunch. Also, your body needs energy to last the day and breakfast is the most important meal of the day. You can simply eat small portions for lunch and dinner.

Eat when you’re hungry. Yes, that is correct, eat when hunger pangs envelope you. It is not right to starve yourself. The best way is to eat smaller portions at least 5 times a day. If you stick on the traditional 3 times a day meals, you tend to get very hungry when it’s time for you to eat lunch or dinner so you might eat more that you should. Snacking is important but you’ve got to stay away from fast foods, snack on fresh fruits instead.

You also have to keep in mind to eat very slowly. You have to learn to eat slowly so that your brain has time to process the idea. When you eat very fast, you’d feel more dissatisfied and less full so you eat more until you’re certain that you’re full. When you eat slowly, your stomach has more time to digest the food and it will send a signal to the brain that you are full.

Another good practice would be to maintain a journal – include the food you eat, your weight loss progress, and whatever information you deem important to include. If you can, take note of the brands you eat, the nutritional information, etc. Be realistic and put in the correct data like how many servings you ate. If you know how to eat right it everything else follows so learn to eat right & burn fat.
