Grants are financial help given to the needy by the government agencies. The money given in form of the monetary help comes from the sum of finances set aside for the development of the society and country in the general budget. This amount of money given as government grants is meant only for the development and improvement of the communities, minorities, organization, small businesses and thus for the entire country. Eligibility criteria and registration requirement of different grants are: * Education grants: education funds are given to students who cannot afford to pay for their higher education. If the student is good in academics, sports or any other educational field then getting these funds become all the more easy for him or her to get the grants. There are two types of educational funds- Pell grants and scholarships. Pell grants are given to students who desire to take college education. Anyone who has high school diploma and has never taken admission to college can apply for these grants. You can do so either with help of the school counselor or college financial aid officer. * Women government grants: these grants are given to women who wants to either pursue their education or want to set up a business of their own. If you require these funds for education then contact the college counselor, he will tell you about the procedure of application. Otherwise you will have to get registered with women’s business enterprise if you want to start or expand your business with the funds. * Real estate grants: these funds are given out to companies and business houses so that they can expand their business in different states. Government tries to fight redundancy with this. You will have to get registered with Dunn and Bradstreet registration and central contractor registration.
