I have reached the age where I don’t really see the need to stay up all night for anything anymore. In my younger days, staying up until the sun came up the next day was something of a badge of honor. Now it is not even a consideration on the weekends. Even though I may be an old geezer, I am sure there are plenty of you who have seen things in the Houston entertainment guide that are certainly worth staying up all night for and enjoying. For you youngsters, staying up until three, four, and five in the morning or even later may not seem like such a big deal. If you fall into that category, then you are going to want to try and find things to do with yourself all night long. There is a certain strategy that has to be involved if you are going to approach a night in this manner. First off, try to get a late start to your evening. If you start hitting the bars and clubs at eight in the evening, you are never going to make it to the next day. You should plan on going out at ten or eleven at night. The real action in the clubs doesn’t really start until then anyway, so why do you want to be there when the senior citizens are still up and about? Once you are out, don’t make the mistake of doing a lot of drinking of alcohol. Once you’re drunk, that’s pretty much it. The evening is going to end quickly for you. You are either going to pass out or get sick and trust me, your friends would rather you just pass out. Mix in drinking some water along the way in the evening to keep yourself hydrated and awake. You want to keep moving, but you don’t want to overdo it either. If you are just sitting around all night at a booth or table, you are going to get tired and call it quits. Get up and dance but don’t stay dancing all night long. You’ll tire yourself out that way too and then you just won’t make it. After you leave the dance club, you might want to think about something to eat before you hit that afterhours club. Get some food in your stomach to help you absorb the alcohol and to give you a burst of energy. Surely there is an all-night diner or something you can stop at along the way. Take it from an old man who has been down this road before. All those things that start late at night in the Houston entertainment guide sound so enticing, but if you don’t have a strategy, you’ll never make it. Follow the plan and go for the glory and watch the sunrise with those bloodshot eyes. What do you do when you want to stay up all night and do things in the Houston entertainment guide?
