Chabad-Lubavitch is a philosophy, a movement and an organization which is considered to be the most dynamic force in Jewish life today.The word "Chabad" is a Hebrew acronym for the three intellectual faculties of: chachmah-wisdom, binah-comprehension and da'at-knowledge. The movement's system of Jewish religious philosophy, the deepest dimension of G-d's Torah, imparts understanding and recognition of the ‘Creator’, the role and purpose of ‘Creation’, and the significance and distinct mission of each Creature. This philosophy teaches a person to refine and govern his or her every act and feeling through wisdom, comprehension and cognizance. The word "Lubavitch" is the name of the town in White Russia where the movement was created and was dominated for more than a century. Actually, the word Lubavitch in Russian means the "city of brotherly love." The name Lubavitch conveys the spirit of the responsibility and love stimulated by the Chabad philosophy toward every single Jew.Following its commencement 250 years back, the Chabad-Lubavitch movement, a branch of Hasidism,became prevalent throughout Russia and then reached surrounding countries as well. It rendered scholars with answers that confounded them and simple farmers with a love that had been denied of them. Over time, the philosophy ofChabad-Lubavitch and its believers reached almost every corner of the world and touched almost every aspect of Jewish life. Chabad does not identify the labels of Orthodox, Conservative or Reform. A Jew is a Jew is a Jew - period. We have become too carried away with the adjectives, the noun is universal - Jew. We have one Torah, we are one People, and we have one God. Chabadmakes every possible attempt to bring unity among the Jewish community through our common bond of Jewish faith and adherence. ChabadLubavitch is till date the largest Outreach Humanitarian Jewish Organization in the world.
