How many times have you had your carpets cleaned? Where you ever curious about how carpet cleaning may of improved over the years? As a customer I would not expect you to be this curious but as a carpet cleaner in the industry today it is something that should be know and taught. It is the same as the history of everything else. This article is going to cover a small piece of carpet cleaning history and how it has evolved throughout the years here in Clear Lake Texas. It started way back with these machines that had big scrubbers that could set fire to your carpet if left to long. There was also a vacuum on these machines that recovered the water and chemicals put out by the machine. Most of them looked like big boxes that where pushed across the floor. The big problem with these machines was that they left chemicals in the carpet that where potentially harmful to people on the carpets. It also created a magnet effect that helped dirt and debris stick to the carpet fibers causing the carpet to get dirty fast. In the late eighties, a mad developed a piece of home-made equipment designed specifically for cleaning astroturf on football fields. He used a Chevrolet car engine to power his monstrous machine. With this development it grew into what we now call the Truck Mount unit for carpet cleaning. Clear lake was just starting to grow with Houston in the eighties and has grown significantly since then. That has caused a huge incline in the amount of people demanding good carpet cleaning. They, just as anyone, ask carpet cleaners questions like: How long will it take for the carpets to dry? Will the cleaning process leave a residue? and What kind of cleaning process do you use? The older electronic machines would do things like leave lots of residue, take lots of time to dry, and of course was an all in one machine. The older "professional carpet cleaning" machines used where much like the rental machines found in grocery stores today. The difference was how intense the machine was. Now the machines have evolved and become gasoline powered. They use high heat created from the exhaust to turn water to steam. These methods have allowed for the continuous high temperature water flow used while rinsing the carpet. The modern "Truck Mount" carpet machines use industrial blowers to create very powerful vacuums. Older cleaning machines used electric vacuums that draw enough power to short your house and flip a fuse. I hope these reasons have helped every one carpet cleaning Clear Lake TX. These machines have offered a chance to conquer all of the old problems found in electric machines. A modern carpet cleaner could even clean astroturf if needed. Clear lake is the 2nd largest master planned community in Houston behind Kingwood. With 80% of houses having partially carpeted floors there has been a large increase in the demand for carpet cleaning and quality carpet cleaning at that. The growth in the community has caused a growth in the area. The oil industry in the Port of Houston has drawn a lot of the nation to the area. Then there is NASA being next door to Clear Lake City. All of these large things taking significant impact on the demand for household and commercial carpet cleaning. The way I look at it is the growth of the area is what has helped the development of carpet cleaning with time. As long as I have been carpet cleaning is has been a growing industry. I like it like that and plan on evolving with the industry.
