What is WordPress? WordPress started as a blogging system, but has evolved into a powerful Content Management System (CMS). It is a free web based software that has many features including a plug-in architecture and a template system. It is used by over 60 million users worldwide to create attractive and highly visible websites. WordPress (WP) is limited only by your imagination. WP uses a WYSIWYG editor to edit posts and pages. WYSIWYG is an acronym for “What you see is what you get” . This power editor comes with many buttons and options for styling and adding media into content. Most of the options are similar to options found in MS Word such as bold, italic, bullet list, etc… In short, WordPress is a great tool to use when building your website. WP allows for quick set up of a website and the best part, its website creation for non-techies. If you can send an e-mail, use Microsoft Word or set up a Facebook account, then you can use WP.
