As I mentioned to her there are a couple of reasons on why she is paying so much. The first thing to look at is that she just may have a policy with a carrier that is not very efficient at what they do and they charge more. Some companies have to raise rates on all their policy holders to simply keep up with their rising claim costs. Some companies may have higher claim and overhead costs versus other companies that forces them to brush it off on their customers. Another reason may be that her credit may be affecting her rate. Many insurance carriers are not factoring credit into their rating because they believe it provides insight to driving habits. From their research they have noticed a trend that the lower the credit score the more likely a person is to be involved in an accident. The last thing I told her was that we would need to review her coverage to make sure it suits her needs. It is a possibility that her coverage needs tweaks, like her deductible is lower than she needs and it is costing her to have that low deductible.
