A Walmart janitor of one-and-a-half years took to Reddit to tell people about his adventures cleaning up after people athis big box store. It's certainly a job that requires a pretty high threshold forgross things. [Note: Reddit's Ask Me Anything series involves anonymous sources, whichwe can't verify . Edited very lightly for clarity ] On the women's restroom: "The women's restroom is one hundred times more disgusting than themen's room. Aside from the rare gross things in the men's, it'smostly chewing tobacco or gum in the urinals. Women however...blood on the walls, feces everywhere, and sometimes they justchoose to pee on the floor." On cleaning up gross things: "I'm not really sure where I would draw the line at, I've got areally high tolerance for gross shit. Most of the time if it'sdisgusting I just say in a slightly audible voice 'What the actualfuck... well time to get to it.' And the most fubar thing I've had to clean was an abundance ofvomit. Vomit isn't as gross as jizz in my book but there was a lot.Just all over the walls and the toilet. I can handle vomit easily. Smells don't typically bother me. It wasmore of a mental gross out with the jizz on the floor." On shoplifters: "I've noticed a few, But our policy is to not intervene and justtell management. I've told them, they've done nothing. I prettymuch stopped caring." On the way employees are treated: "A lot of my co-workers are treated like complete garbage (Cuthours, Insulted/degraded, etc.). The pay is pretty minimal but Imanage to get by only because I live with family for now.(I receivearound ten dollars an hour but I work the graveyard shift.)" On the positives: "The freedom, I'm not managed by anyone and have no set tasks. IE:I can do whatever work in whatever order I want. I make around $10an hour, As for benefits I opt out of them since I have bettercoverage through family. But the bonus we get every three monthsfrom recycling is pretty sweet." Work at Walmart?
