If there is any piece of a hot fashion item that is really difficult to pull-off, the harem pants will surely make the top list. It is so difficult to style it that even the most seasoned stylist can still miss the mark if they stray from basic far. However, there are already time-tested dos and don'ts of wearing them. If you stick with it, you have a chance at pulling off the look. But straying from the rules too far so you can experiment might also result to botching up the look. Here are the dos and don'ts of wearing harem pants: Do: When wearing a this type of pants, make it the center of your whole outfit. As it is considered an over-the-top bottom, a simple top that fits your body should do the trick. So that a simple top will not look boring, you can add accessories like a nice and big necklace and bracelets. But that's pretty much it. Don't: Never wear an equally over-the-top top with it and especially when it's loose. It's like looking at someone wearing the wrong size of clothes. Unless you're Korean, since they can get away with pretty much everything they wear, don't even try wearing a loose top with it. Do: Wear a belt with it and keep the top tucked-in to emphasize the waist. Don't: Let your top un-tucked. It will make you look like you are wearing sweatpants or pajamas. Do: Keep it sophisticated by using it with high heels. Going for the comfortable look can sometimes make you look too comfortable, like your plan was just to hang out at home but you got dragged by friends to go out. It's not a very good look. Don't: Pair it with sneakers or flat ballet shoes or flat sandals. Don't pair it with anything else other than high heels. Do: To add spunk to your outfit, you can add a cropped leather jacket. Or for more sophistication, you can add yet another sophisticated piece of jacket. Adding a jacket to your outfit will further give the outfit the vibe you want to achieve. Don't: Make the look boring. Yes, I mentioned that you should go and try simple with it, but that doesn't necessarily mean that you have the license to be boring with it. Add a little spice into it. If you are not good at accessorizing, then choose a harem pants that can stand on its own. A good example would be to wear a sparkly or sequined harem pants. Do: Remember to have fun with it. Fashion is supposed to be fun so have fun and be confident in what you wear. Confidence is the best accessory you can wear in any outfit so load your outfit with that right attitude.
