One of the greatest innovators and the owner of one of the most successful business empire in India was the man who started the legendary and popular airlines in India. Yes we are talking about Ratan Tata who was the man behind the inception of Air India. This airline was started by Ratan Tata in 1932 and was named as Tata airlines. In 1948, this airline was converted from a privately owned company to a public owned airline which then started its international airline services. In its early stage, this airline provides its international flights from London to Mumbai and then in 1953 the government split the airline into two groups which were International air India and Indian airlines. The former was incepted to provide only international flight services however the later one to provide domestic airline services. As the airline evolved, international word was dropped from the name of the group which provides international airline services. The main center of this airline is in London and it has two subsidiaries which are express and cargo with a tagline of “your place in the sky”. The head office of this airline is in Mumbai which is also known as commercial capital of India. The airline provides its services in various cities which include Singapore, Jakarta, Frankfurt, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, London, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Birmingham, Frankfurt and many more. The airline own and operates with 38 aircrafts including state of the art Boeing 747-400, Boeing 777-200LR and Boeing 777-200. The airline as informed earlier has a subsidiary dedicated to provide cargo service. All the aircrafts of this airline carries a white and red colored flag which differentiate the aircrafts from aircrafts of others airlines. The airline also provides its lounge services which are known as Maharaja Lounge. The passengers travelling in first class and business class can avail the services of this lounge. This lounge is available in 5 airports in total out of which 3 are in Indian airports which are Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and 2 in international airports which are London and New York. Passengers can have drinks and refreshments before boarding on flight in these lounges. The airline is famous for offering globally standard service in business class. The cabins and chairs in business class are large and comfortable. The passengers travelling in business class are offered three types of menus to choose food to eat, Chicken malai kebabs, Parmesan cheese omelets and grilled lamb chops. The passengers can also ask for a vintage wine or champagne to drink. The passengers can also have audio and video however it is on request service.
