Taking care of your skin is serious business especially as you age. Aging skin experience lots of negative effects and it is important to help keep it healthy and vibrant. But what is the best skin care to use on aging skin? The best way to take care of aging skin is with serious skin care. This means you must diligently cleanse, moisturize, hydrate your skin daily so it can look soft and toned. Your skin shows the effects of aging due to many different factors. Here are some of the factors that affect your skin and what to do to protect it:

Sun Protection: The sun emits UV rays which damages skin cells. UV radiation causes premature aging of the skin and also makes it possible for free radical to attack your skin. Free radical breaks down your collagen and elastin as well as cause wrinkles and lines to appear. Protecting your skin from the sun include wearing high SPF sun screen of over 30. Re-apply the sun screen every 2-3 hours if you will be in the sun for long periods of time. Wear wide rim hat and sun glasses to protect the skin on your face and help it remain healthy.

Stress: Stress takes its toll on the skin. The more stress you experience the faster your skin will age. Try relaxing by doing meditation, yoga, watching a movie or listening to your favorite music. Brisk walking or playing a sport that you enjoy will help reduce your level of stress.

Water: Be sure to drink your daily supply of water. 8 glasses is what is recommended. Water will help make your skin look plump and will help get rid of unwanted toxins.

Diet: A healthy diet is important to good looking skin. Eating fruits, vegetables, nuts, whole grain, good fats, fish and chicken will provide your skin with the essential nutrients it needs. Fish is especially good as it provides you with essential fatty acids which are very vital to healthy skin.

Exercise too can go a long way in keeping skin firm and toned. Daily exercise will not only help keep your skin healthy it’s good for your heart too. 30 minutes of exercise daily will make the world of difference in how your skin looks.

Serious skin care should not be taken lightly. Make it a habit of taking care of your skin daily and you will be rewarded with skin that looks glowing and younger.
