Take an acorn and plant it in a small pot and you will not see the giant oak tree it is meant to be no matter how much it is watered and cared for. It will only be an anointed little house plant. There are acorns planted and confined within the walls of churches that should be giant oak trees in the cities in which they live and are not because of an identity problem. Find out who you are in Christ. Identify with Him. Plant yourself in your city. Don’t allow yourself or anyone else to keep you confined to some small flowerpot within the four walls of your church and stunt your growth because of mistaken identity. Don’t put you light under a bushel basket. Let the entire city benefit from your good works that they may glorify your Father, which is in Heaven. God needs you to be a giant oak tree on Elm Street or Maple Street or whatever street you live on in your city. You will grow more on the streets of your city than you will within the comfort of your church. See yourself as that giant oak tree providing shade for all that pass by instead of a small well-cultured house plant. Get a revelation of how much God desires to change your city. Understand that He wants to use you to do it. Dream BIG! Believe BIG! God will make your dreams look small in your eyes. You are not the only tree on the block, but stand tall and spread out your branches like you are. Stay put! It takes time for an acorn to grow into a giant oak tree. Proverbs 17:8 states, A gift is as a precious stone in the eyes of him that hath it: whithersoever it turneth, it prospereth. The gift that God has placed within you is like a fine cut diamond by a master diamond cutter, which reflects light from all sides and every facet. It prospers you and those who receive it in many different ways. In any direction you turn your gift prospers. Proverbs 15:7 states, The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so. It is foolish to hide your gift in your heart or behind the walls of your church. Spread you gift abroad in your city by the lips of your mouth and be wise. God desires to Change Your City using you to do it.
