Things that attract in Hong Kong

Travel & Tourism
HONG KONG is a good spot to visit for Western travelers new to East Asia. The country is culturally Chinese, but with a heavy Western influence, so there's less culture shock than stepping off the airplane at Myanmar or Cambodia. HONG KONG is also tiny and urban, so it's possible to see the majority of the highlights in only one or two days by traveling round the island on foot or using public transport. This guide will tell you how. Most commonly, there are 3 parts to HONG KONG. Nearest to the Chinese border and comprising the majority of the cape is the New Territories, which is the agricultural part of the country. At the top of the promontory is Kowloon, which is the urban heart of the country with the well-liked Nathan Road and the Church Street Market. Past the southern end of Kowloon is HONG KONG Island, together with the outer islands in the fringe. HONG KONG Island has the majority of the commercial and business activity, generally around Central station. If you need a total trip to HONG KONG, you want to go to all 3, but most visitors stick to Kowloon and HONG KONG Island, with a short trip to Lantau Island. Journeying to the New Territories is commended if you're meaning to spend more than a weekend in HONG KONG, or choose to pass the time in a natural environment visiting beaches and forests. Attractions A visit to HONG KONG is simply not complete without a wire auto ride to Po Lin Priory on Lantau Island. It's easy to get to the priory by bus if you're part of an organized tour, or otherwise the wire vehicle is actually the best and most convenient option. It costs roughly 20 U.S. Bucks roundtrip per individual, and is really worth the cost. The wire auto travels from the Tung Chung MTR tube station to the top of Lantau Island, and the ride is reasonably impressive, particularly when there are low-lying clouds. At the top is the priory where you'll find a church and priests residing, and opposite is the biggest outside sitting Buddha statue in all of Pacific Rim. Give yourself a couple of hours for this trip, and ensure you have a quality pair of shoes on, as the staircase up to the Buddha statue is reasonably long. For a novel town experience, visit the Mid-Levels in the Central neighborhood of HONG KONG Island. This is a collection of escalators that take you uphill to the home parts of the island, and on the way there are disembarkation points at streets that have unique bars, bistros, and shops. During your trip to HONG KONG, you want to spend a second at Victoria Harbour. The best spot to enjoy the blinding view is from the Kowloon waterfront looking over toward HONG KONG Island. The classic skyline implies a wonderful photograph. A good spot to enjoy the view in the evening is from the lobby of the Intercontinental Hotel in Kowloon where you can enjoy a drink and a break while taking in the lights. In the daytime, you'll naturally get a view of the harbour if you use the Star Ferries to move between the island and Kowloon.
