Why to Prefer Emergency Care in Allergic Reactions?

Health,Fitness
Growing industrialization and fast changing bio-diversities coupled with sedentary lifestyle are causing a surge in allergic reactions and diseases, especially among children’s. Allergies are very common in human population causes many symptoms and can also plays an important role in asthma and breathing issues.

An allergic reaction occurs when a person’s immune system becomes negative to normally harmless substances. People are commonly allergic to certain type of food, pets and drugs. Other allergies triggered by plants like grass, trees and weeds. Allergic reactions might be mild or serves as life threatening.

For example, the first time you stung by a bee, you may have only pain and redness from the sting. If you stung again, you may have hives or trouble breathing. This can cause by the response of the immune system.

Mild Allergic Symptoms

• Itchy tearing eyes, rubbing causes swelling and redness in eyelids. • Dry itches in the nasal passage. • Itching in mouth and throat. • Facial swelling of insect sting, red Itchy flaky skin, blistering.

Serve Allergic Symptoms

• Difficulty in breathing; wheezing • Changes in consciousness (including confusion, light-headedness or stupor) • Rapid swelling throughout the body • Hives • Blue skin • Severe abdominal pain, nausea or diarrhea

Some common types of Allergic Reactions:

Food Allergy Food allergy is the effect of the body's immune system to otherwise harmless substances in certain foods. Although 25% of people believe they are allergic to certain foods, only 4 - 8% of children and 2% of adults have diagnosed food allergies. These affect mostly young children, and about 90% of these allergies caused by cow's milk, eggs, soy, peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, fish, and shellfish. With exclusion of peanuts, majority of children outgrow their food allergies.

Skin Allergy Skin irritations caused by a variety of factors. These include heat, immune system disorders, medications and infections. When an allergen is responsible for triggering an immune system response, the irritation is an allergic skin condition. Few of them are Dermatitis (Eczema), Urticaria (Hives), Angioedema.

Allergy to Bee Sting Common type of allergy occurs from honeybee, hornets, wasp and yellow jackets sting. The affected area of a person develops pain, swelling, redness and itching and an approximately 10-15% case, the person is having a wider area of swelling.

Wasp Sting Allergy Wasp sting results in mild allergic symptoms which may lead to serious consequences. The wasp injects a lesser amount of venom than a bee. The stinger of the wasp itself has a venom filled sac and an egg lying tube which serves as a needle. The wasp squeezes the sac and injects venom into the sting instrument, which is then injected into the victim’s body. A feature that is unique to wasps and hornets is the pheromone that is present in their venom. This serves to alert other wasps in surrounding areas which then come and join in stinging the victim.

Allergies to Dogs Allergic reactions from dogs are caused by dog dander. All dogs shed dander continuously. Dander is the microscopic bits of hair and skin that have a protein-based oil secretion on them. Because the dander varies slightly from one dog to another, it is possible for a person to have an allergic reaction to one dog and not from another, even if it is of the same breed. Skin rashes, respiratory problem or irritation and itchy eyes are some common symptoms.

Why to prefer emergency care in Allergic reactions?

There are some reasons, why a person should prefer emergency care than urgent care: • Better facilities • Better atmosphere • Better health care team • Emergency care facilities • Fast recovery • Easy payment facilities • 24 hours 7 days a week service
