Based in Arizona, US Airways has its main centers in Charlotte, Vegas, Phoenix and Philadelphia. US Airways started as All-American Aviation in 1939. All-American Aviation delivered airmail to Western Pennsylvania and the Ohio Valley using single engine Stinson Dependent aircraft. In 1989, USAir was one of world's biggest airlines and operated over five thousand flights daily. In the 1990s, USAir commenced flights to London, Frankfurt, and Paris, after an investment from English Airways which was the foundation for one of the first transatlantic airline coalitions. In 1996, the coalition with Brit Airways finished and USAir modified its name to US Airways. In May two thousand, US Airways declare it was meant to be taken over by UAL Co which is the parent corporation of United Airlines. However talks slowed and the offer was withdrawn in July 2001. In May, 2004, US Airways became the fifteenth member of the Star coalition. In May 2005, US Airways Group and America West Holdings combined and the airline kept the name, US Airways. Since the two thousand fusions, the airline kept on growing. However at this time, US Airways was the front runner in client service beefs with 4.4 beefs per 100,000 consumers. In spite of poor consumer satisfaction, US Airways was the top on-time airline in 2008 among the major six hearts and spoke carriers.
