How to recruit English teachers

Education
Recruit teachers in Asia by getting the best agencies. ">English is one of the global languages that is spoken all over the world. In some countries, it is a first language while some in others it is a secondary language. Whichever the case, English is the globally recognised language and is used in every other platform, learning, internet, manuals etc. But how does it come to be the most spoken language in the whole world? It is because it is taught in almost every primary school, secondary school, colleges and universities. It is taught by qualified English teachers who impact the knowledge to the students. So the question that follows next is; where do you get the English teachers in all parts of the world even in non English speaking countries? If English is not their native language then how are they able to get the skills and knowledge to speak perfect English? English teachers are recruited from all parts of the world to teach English language either in their own countries or abroad. Recruiting the English teachers is a tedious job as you must get the right teacher who can transfer the knowledge to a student who does not know English or is completely a non native English speaker. It needs skills, calmness and endurance to be able to pass knowledge from one person to another. This applies to in teaching English language and passing the same skills to another person. It is this reason that there are many recruitment agencies out there that are recruiting English teachers on behalf of other schools, colleges and entities that are not able to get the best English teachers. Recruiting an English teacher requires expertise that ensures that you only get culturally fluent English specialist with the required experience, an efficient recruit who will perform his or her task diligently and one with experience that will impact knowledge into his or her trainees. During the recruitment process you will need to set questions that you will ask the prospective English teacher to be able to evaluate him. The most common first question will ordinarily be to tell you about him or her. This question will enable you to know him better and have an in depth understanding of the recruit before going further. Another important question that you might want to ask the recruits is why they specifically want to be English teachers. This is a question that will enlighten you whether the candidate(s) have a passion for the job. In teaching the key to success is having passion in the profession and if anyone does not have it then they cannot succeed in teaching profession. As a recruiter you will also have to know the technical skills that the aspiring teachers have with them. These are classroom management, course and lesson planning, subject knowledge, understanding your learners and learning technologies. In classroom management you may want to know whether the candidate has the desired skills of running a classroom smoothly without instances of indiscipline. The English teacher must also be able to identify possibility of indiscipline arising and preventing it before it goes out of hand. Course and lesson planning is also an essential part of the recruitment process as you may want to know whether the recruit has the skills to plan for his or her lessons well ahead of the class. This skill will identify the most organized person for the job. Subject knowledge is where you get to know whether the candidates have the desired knowledge about English language. This is where you can also ask the recruit how he or she intends to improve the literacy level when given the chance. It is normally the responsibility of the language teacher to improve literacy levels in the class by coming up with working formulas in his lesson plans. A teacher or in this case an English teacher must be able to understand his learners. He needs to deeply look into each of his students and know how fast they learn, their attitude towards the subject and their proactive. This way the teacher is able to handle each student differently in a personalized manner but still have the class moving on as one. Learning technologies is meant to know what experience the teacher has though it might not be very necessary if the recruit is fresh from college. Other notable questions that you might want to ask the teacher is how he intends to inspire the student into a reading culture. Students learning English must continuously read books to enhance their language skills and vocabulary. That’s why an English teacher must have a skill that enables him or her to make students form a habit of reading both in class and outside the class. Without this, the student’s vocabulary knowledge will never expand and they will remain the same. In a class you may also meet students with special needs. They may not be necessarily badly off that they need a special school but may need to have special attention. It is necessary that you get to know from the teacher what skills he or she has in taking care of such students. If they have the skills, then that must be a plus for him as it means he can teach a broad number of students even those that require special needs. We are living in a world of changing technology. Every day we have new technology coming up in our lives and we need to start embracing it. E-readers have now become a common tool in our libraries and homes. How this technology impact on students that are still learning is something that needs to be handled when teaching. This is another area that you may need to zero in with the prospective English teacher to know how he or she is going to embrace technology with his students to improve on the language and overall scores. Ask the teacher also what he intends to improve overall in the school or recruiting organization giving timelines. Use popular literary books like Shakespeare to test the teacher’s broader experience or knowledge base.
