If you're trying to get to Facebook or Myspace on a school computer, you might be in for a surprise. Many schools have blocked popular social media sites from their school computers to keep students on task. Bypassing these blocks is very easy with what is known as a proxy server. A proxy server will hide your IP address and direct you to the websites you want to go to without being blocked. Since there are thousands of proxies on the web, schools cannot block every one of them. Instructions 1 Open the Web browser of your school's computer by double-clicking on the Web browser's icon. Wait for the school's home page to load. 2 Go to "Topbits" (see Reference section) and find a proxy server that has been tested in the last day. You can find this information from the small box next to the individual proxy server. Click on the link of the proxy you want to go through, and wait to be taken to the proxy server's website. 4 Look over this new website until you find a small box that looks like a search field in a search engine. You might see an http:// in this field. 5 Enter the website you would like to go to and click the "Go" button on the right-hand side of the screen.
