Virgin Atlantic has launched a fresh service which will permit passengers to test the standing of flights arrivals and exits thru Twitter. The new "tweet bot" @VAAInfo service should be available to visitors with Twitter accounts and is the first of its kind to be launched by an airline company. The service permits purchasers to make a question about a flight and within a few seconds they'll receive tweets back providing realtime info about flight arrival and exits. Holiday makers can check the standing of flights taking them to their Caribbean vacations, business journeys to The Big Apple, or honeymoons in SA. The standing of return flights can be checked while visitors are abroad in Caribbean hostels and resorts for instance, and it's a solid service for folks that are on a tight schedule, eg business visitors. Fergus Boyd, the Head of Ecommerce, announced: "We now have over fifty thousand Twitter fans worldwide and we all know that a lot of them use the social network to keep up with travel stories and updates.”We realize that many visitors are utilizing the tool simply to approve when their flight departs and others to test details when picking up acquaintances and family from the airport." The service is available too for passengers to use while in the air during flights to the Caribbean (as Virgin Atlantic offers flights to as much as eight destinations in the Caribbean alone) or other exotic places the airline offers services to. This will enable visitors to check on connecting flights, while buddies and relatives can check the standing of flights at home to save waiting around at airports. Virgin Atlantic operates flights to destinations around the globe including Manhattan, Miami, Chicago, Vegas, Orlando, LA, Washington and Boston in the U. S.; Cape City and Johannesburg in S. A. ; Dubai in the U. A. E. ; Sydney in Australia ; Shanghai in China ; Tokyo in Japan ; HK ; Manchester, Glasgow and London in the UK ; and St Lucia, Barbados, Jamaica, Antigua, Tobago, Grenada in the Caribbean. Whether passengers are taking romantic Caribbean vacations, work journeys to Shanghai, or a town breaks to the US, the new service will supply regular up to date standing updates.
