GPS stands for Global Positioning System, any activity that is finding the location of any mobile phone and such gadgets when done using the GPS is called as GPS cell tracking. SMS or GPRS may be used to transmit the location information received to another computer in the form of Information Protocol packets. A GPS tracking unit can be of three types: Data Pusher, Data Puller or Data logger; though the modern day GPS phones and smart phones may work in all the above mentioned modes. GPS tracking has wide spread applications in the present world; from sports to law and order, professional work to personal protection all are taking the advantage of GPS tracking. Many sports specially racing events make use of cell tracking through GPS in order to keep a track record of all the participants that makes the event fair as well as ensures the safety of the participants. Many a times prisoners who are on bail have to wear GPS tracking unit so that the police can keep a record of his location. In the professional world as well GPS technology has a lot to offer and many ace firms, corporates and multi nationals are taking the optimum advantage of it.
