The major purpose of awards in the corporate world is to say well done and thank you to staff. Awards differ from company’s objectives and goals such as salary of which is a payment each month for performing a job, then there are benefits that are in place to protect employees over a short or long term and rewards are in place for employees that achieve certain performance goals. In order for such programs to work effectively, they should be custom made to suit the occasion and fall in line with the company’s culture. There are various different ways in which to award employees for recognition that include award ceremonies, pins, products, company stock, cash, plaques and even thank you notes to name a few. A way to say thank you is unlimited of which are not expensive. Many corporate companies run employee recognition awards programs that include the length of service with the company and employees are often rewarded with increments every five years of accumulated service. Such recognition can include acknowledgement in a newsletter or include a certificate or pin or employees may also be allowed to choose certain gifts from the company catalogue. Another common program directed at employees is sports awards for those that have gone above and beyond in achieving for their team. Employee awards and Staff awards may be focused around a one time achievement or maybe focused on their performance over a certain time period. One of the most common staff awards given our is a cash payment. Some corporate company’s offer small gift awards as well as paid time off. Most company’s focus on programs whereby a employee performs a particular noteworthy or exemplary performance, of which varies according to the needs of a company. From time to time the company may change the types of staff awards. For instance, an employer may award employees that add quality to their work performance or product and will be awarded accordingly. The most cost effective way to reward employees is by allowing them to offer an onsite training program to new employees, of which will help new employees to become productive at a much faster pace. A very important reward that many employers consider is peer recognition of which department heads play an important role in such a recognition program. It is very effective as well as inexpensive to repeatedly say thank you to employees that have achieved outstanding efforts, especially when including recognition in staff meetings.
