Wellness is a state of well being. It is energy for the mind, body and food for the soul. It refers to the condition of good physical and mental health of a person, especially when maintained by proper exercise, food and habits.

So, what makes you well?

The first thing would be an examination of your eating habits, how many calories you are consuming every day, are they more than what your body needs, are you eating healthy food? If you are not making basic efforts to take care of your nutritional needs, then you aren't a well individual.Nutrition helps in keeping the body healthy, providing it with the necessary food, vitamins and minerals, so that we continue to thrive in our daily life’s processes.

Next would come exercise, you might want to look at your exercise habits if there are any. If there aren't any exercise routines to examine, then there is no wellness. Everyone, no matter what age, benefits from any form of exercise. Whether it is the gym, walking or yoga, be it any, it surely helps in conditioning your body and mind as well. Exercise is an excellent wellness tool.

Being able to deal with and handle the daily stresses of life keeps us healthy and well. Making sure we take the time to accommodate our needs for stress relief such as therapy time, massage time, taking the time to relax and do relaxation exercises. If you combine this with physical exercise for the entire body,you shouldn't have any trouble in maintaining a state of wellness.

Our personal habits either keep us well or prevent us from being well like smoking, drinking or excess lack of sleep. Then you are not the well individual you could be.

There are so many occasions to stop and question our efforts at maintaining good health and we usually don’t even take out time to begin this examination, but it is beneficial to our health, the quality and quantity of our life, to make every effort to be well and healthy individuals. We should give adequate time to our physical needs as well as mental, the choices we make in fulfilling these needs contribute to a state of wellness.

Wellness is a state of the body and the mind. If you neglect one you cannot call yourself well enough. So a combination of a healthy body and a balanced mind would be a perfect state of wellness. Eating right, exercising and sleeping well also help in prevention of infections and diseases. However, a good sense of self, a loving support network and the potential for continued personal growth, is also important to our overall well being.

Health can be defined as a state of complete physical, mental and social well being. Stay happy and healthy, always.
