The Demands Of Pest Control In London

Business
When people think of household pests, most people think only of cockroaches and ants. The reality, however, is that there are a number of other household pests that are just as common, but are not as easily visible as cockroaches and ants might be. Pest control in London is a growing industry, and the number of incidents of pest infestations in homes is rising. In order to avoid becoming part of those statistics, you need to know as much as you can about household pests and how to keep them out of your home. Failing that, you need to know how to identify the telltale traces that indicate they are in your home so that you can call the professionals in to deal with them.

Of the various pests that might take up residence in your home, probably the worst are rats. Rats not only incite fear in many people who encounter them, there is a legitimate reason for that fear. Rats are dirty creatures by virtue of the areas that they live and move around in. Salmonella and Weils’ disease are two serious diseases that are spread by bacterium contained in rat droppings and urine as well as carried on the bodies of the rats themselves. Young children are particularly vulnerable to the spread of these diseases by rats, and if you have young children in your home it is absolutely essential that you keep the premises free of rats and other disease-carrying pests.

Some of the telltale signs that rats leave in homes are their droppings, which are often found underneath and behind cupboards and in other dark nooks and crannies around the house. Rats also leave scratches and bite marks in furniture and other wooden fixtures.

Bedbugs are another nasty pest that often takes up residence in homes, and not just in beds as their name suggests. Bedbugs actually thrive in any dark and warm environment, so they can hide in any number of cracks and crevices throughout your home, thanks to their small size and flat bodies. Bedbugs are usually hard to detect until you actually get bitten and notice the bite marks in the morning, but you should nevertheless stay alert for the sight of a bunch of small, oval-shaped insects anywhere on bed frames or in cracks and corners.

Another dreaded pest that sometimes takes up residence in peoples’ homes is the wasp. Wasps are communal insects that build hives out of mud and saliva, and they are well known to be much more aggressive than bees and to have more potent stings. If you notice a nest of wasps in your home, you should stay far away from it and call a pest control company right away. This is one pest that you definitely do not want to take risks with, as the stings of some wasps can be extremely painful or even dangerous to your health.

If you find yourself facing a pest problem with these pests or any other pests, and you need pest control in London, then you should engage the services of a reputable pest control company to deal with the problem.
