Wheat Field With Crows was made in July 1890 by Holland impressionist painter Vincent William Van Gogh. Wheat Field With Crows is a kind of canvas painting, measuring 50.5*100.5 cm. It is now collected in NationalVan GoghMuseum in Holland Amsterdam. The usual explanation is that the dark and cruel sky shows Van Gogh's mental state of distress, and three ways leading to different directions and black crow overhead embodies the sign of death. The whole painting is very disturbed, and the green path leads to the distance in the wheat fields, which adds to the uncertainty and exciting mood. This oil painting shows a tension and ominous, like a suicide note consisting of colors and lines. The painter wrote he had painted large wheat field in Auvers-sur-Oise and the eventful sky in the three paintings. It is a common mistake that it is the last painting of Van Gogh. It eve said that he shot himself when he drew this picture. However, there is no evidence to support this point of view. In Dr. Hulsker's chronology table of Vincent Van Gogh, there are seven pictures made after the painting. Of course, Van Gogh indeed committed suicide in the same month when he drew this picture. It is generally believed that he went for walks in the fields on the evening of Jul. 27, 1890 and went home after shooting himself with a revolver. He died after lying in bed for two days and his brother Theo stayed at his side at that time.
