Not so many people get the chance to live the life they have always dreamt of, or get to do some of the things that they have wanted to do all their lives, like travelling for example. Deborah Alessi’s story is rather different. The loss of her father changed so many things in her life, and she was later subject to a lot of challenges, most of which have been an inspiration to so many people through her experiences. When her father passed on when she was a young girl only at the age of 8, her passion for travelling was ignited and from then she has been able to uplift the lives of so many who look up to her. Right after college, things opened up for her in a way that most college students or her peers would only dream of. She took up a chance to become a flight attendant in the Middle East, from which she became a very good employee, exemplary to say the least. So good was she at her work that the Royal Family of Bahrain took an interest in her. While working for Gulf Air, luck was to shine her way as the part owner of the company, Sheikh Al Khalifa recognized her unique skill and offered her an opportunity to work on the private jet. From there on she went on to manage the company for more than two years. Deborah has always had the heart to help out whenever she can from an early age, and the fact that she was able to travel so many places in the world as she worked on the airline made her realize that her love for helping people burnt so deep in her with a passion. It is during such times when she realize how she really desired to change lives through her actions. One of the things that really touched her spirit was her experience in a third world country where she came across young girls sold by their parents to traffickers. She was to later on settle in Los Angeles, California with Dr. David Alessi. Though they started out as friends, they later on realized that they had so much to share in life, and through their experiences and lessons learned through them, they came up with Face Forward, a nonprofit organization that offers reconstructive surgery and therapeutic services for those who have been victims of gang or domestic violence. Author:- Face Forward-faceforwardla.org organization is run by Deborah Alessi and her husband- Dr. David Alessi to resolve issues of women and children against domestic violence.
