Chandelier holds a long history since their invention in early medieval era. At the earlier times; chandeliers were simple cross wood structures used to hold multiple candles but with the evolution of technology; crystal chandeliers have completely replaced the wooden chandeliers. Crystal Chandeliers are much more beautiful, shiny and durable than the conventional chandeliers but to maintain the shine of the crystal chandelier for longer time; you must keep the below provided three basic tips in mind. DUST WEEKLY Chandeliers are always in exposure to dust & dirt and hence it becomes much important to clean it on regular interval. As crystal chandeliers are normally sophisticated and brittle structures so it is not possible to take them down regularly but to keep the shine on the surface; weekly dusting of the chandelier with the help of magnetized duster is a very vital task. Most of the people use a traditional feather duster to remove the dust but these dusters spread the dust in the air and it again get stick on the surface. DRY WIPE EVERY 6 MONTHS The hard work need to be done every 6 months. The dust remover can’t remove the minor dust particles and hence degrades the shine of the surface. Take a dry cloth, climb the ladder and carefully wipe the every part of the chandelier and crystal lights. Note: Be careful to the sharp edges of the parts of the chandelier which can make a deep bruise on your skin. TAKE DOWN YEARLY Beside with cleaning the chandelier on weekly and monthly basis; the hard to reach corners of the chandelier can’t be accessed. To increase the overall life of your chandelier and providing a shiny look; you must put down the crystal chandelier once in a year for a complete wash. The task can take around 2-3 hours and as the chandelier is a brittle item; wash it when the children are not around. You can use a mild detergent and warm water to thoroughly clean every section of the chandelier. You are always advised to click some photographs of the chandelier before differentiating its parts so that you can easily integrate them later. Open each part carefully and put them on a dry cloth; wash the blubs and crystals separately and then let them air dry for a few hours. The part of the chandelier with electric connection must be handed carefully and make sure that they are completely dry before switching on the lightening.
