The formation acupuncture is a professional study which has advanced even to the Bch level. The course is known as the Bachelor of Health Science (Acupuncture). This ancient Chinese traditional medicine has seen its way into mainstream medicine. It has been accepted and practiced in many countries. There is acknowledgement of the acupuncture and modern medicine in relation to the environment. In formation acupuncture a practitioner is taught how to restore harmonious energy flow by the use of lasers, needles and finger pressure. They are also taught on how the Chinese medicines and herbs are used to restore and strengthen healing mechanisms while restoring balance. Some college degrees are recognized by the Chinese board of Australia (CMBA). ASSOCIATIONS: Graduates are allowed to register as members in some professional associations such as : •Acupuncture and Chinese medicine association. •Traditional medicine society. •Natural therapies associations •Federation of Chinese medicine and acupuncture societies. Regulation of acupuncture: For governments to ensure safe acupuncture practices in acupuncture they have governmental bodies which ensure safe practice. AUSTRALIA: The government body in Australia which regulate acupuncture is known as the Chinese medicine registration board of Victoria( CMBV). It was established in 2000 as an independent government agency. It main responsibility was to oversee the practice of Chinese herbal medicine and acupuncture. However, there is the restriction in the use of titles such as acupuncturists, Chinese medicine practitioner and Chinese herbal medicine practitioner. these restrictions were put in place by the registration board which was appointed by the government. The registration was to protect the public by ensuring there is a high level of competency and education of the practitioners. CANADA: Canada has 5 provinces which regulate acupuncture that is Alberta, Ontario, British Columbia, Newfoundland and Quebec. In British Columbia the practice of acupuncture is regulated professionally by college of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists. A professional license to practice is issued by the same body. In Ontario the practice is regulated by college of traditional Chinese medicine practitioners and acupuncturists of Ontario. GERMANY: In Germany the trails are conducted by the German acupuncture trails which passed a law which enables patients to be treated by the public health insurance system. However the insurance system is restricted to two conditions; the chronic lower back pain and the chronic knee pain caused osteoarthritis. FRANCE: In France the formation acupuncture has been accepted as part of medical practice. The Académie Nationale de Médecine French advisory body has acupuncture accepted as the part of medical practice. Also, when acupuncture is performed by a practitioner or doctor it is routinely reimbursed in social security. UNITED STATES: Formation acupuncture is required to last for three or four year graduate level. The program is accredited and licensed by the accreditation commission for acupuncture and oriental medicine (ACAOM).
