Best Foods and Places of the Caribbean

Cooking,Food & Beverages,Cuisine
While enjoying your vacation in a Caribbean island it is also great to visit the Caribbean’s best restaurants and taste their varieties of flavors. The Caribbean islands have a lot to offer when it comes to the best dining places. From romantic to budget-friendly, simple grilled fish to an elegantly prepared dish and the luxurious cuisines. You will be amazed by multiple Caribbean fine dining that are presented with the cuisines blending with African, Spanish, Indian and French. From beachside food stalls to high-end, Michelin-starred restaurants, these islands offer a unique blend of traditional, international and home-grown flavors to captivate even the most sophisticated delight. We have listed some of the best places to dine in the Caribbean.

Banana Tree Grille, U.S.V.I

Here you will enjoy watching the small sailboats and mega-cruise ships in the eagle’s eye view of the Charlotte Amalie Harbor, on the gorgeous U.S. Virgin Islands. This is a fantastic place that also has fascinating foods. The signature dish at Banana Tree Grille and creditable of his fame is Chef Patrick Bellantoni's New York sirloin seasoned simply with olive oil and garlic and grilled to order. Arrive before 6 PM and watch the cruise ships depart from the harbor while you enjoy a drink at the bar.

The Cliff, Barbados

Despite its precisely British heritage, it is the flavorful mixture of European, African and East Indian culinary influences that makes the food in Barbados an outstanding example of Caribbean cuisine. Vegetables and cereals feature heavily in Barbadian recipes and the visual attractiveness of the dish, including color, is of particular importance to its specialty. Chef Paul Owens's mastery is the foundation of one of the finest dining experiences in the Caribbean. Reserve days or even weeks in advance to snag a table at the front of the terrace for The Cliff restaurant's best view.

Koalkeel, Anguilla

One of the island's best new restaurants combines French and West Indian styles to exquisite effect. Originally part of a sugar and cotton plantation, the chef prepares supreme meals that are served on tabletops made of sea glass, overlooking the ocean. Seafood is the star in many of KoalKeel's dishes. Wine lovers take note of the exceptional 15,000-bottle wine cellar, in an underground reservoir.

Le Tastevin, St. Martin

It is in the heart of Grand Case; Le Tastevin is one of everyone’s lists of favorites. The appealing wood-beamed room is the real St. Martin style, and the tasty food is enhanced by Joseph, the amiable owner, who serves lunch and dinner on a breezy patio, every day. The menu changes frequently and includes fusion treatments of local ingredients such as mahi mahi in a pineapple-tomato sauce, and rack of lamb with glazed garlic and rosemary.

Iguane Café, Guadeloupe

They have cuisines with a delectable expression of its varied international cultures and influences. Local creole dishes combine the finest elements of French cuisine with the spices of Africa, the Middle East, India and Southeast Asia. Mostly serving seafood and fruit themed dishes, plus the famous Jambalaya, they offer an original cuisine with influences from around the world, both daring and dramatic, not to mention delicious. A sure thing on the Iguane Cafés menu is the foie gras (fatty liver) with vintage rum and a mixture of papaya and tamarind. If you come on a Saturday night, you may get live entertainment.

Coyaba Restaurant, Providenciales, Turks and Caicos

The Coyaba Restaurant provides a favorites dine area with palms along the edge setting, one of the islands most romantic and welcoming places. Try several different appetizers instead of one more expensive entry for dinner; guava and tamarind barbecue ribs and coconut shrimp tempura are two good choices if you decide to take that route. Don't skip dessert; Chef Paul Newman makes the most awesome chocolate fondant you will ever have!
