Acne scar treatment should be completed by a medical professional, simply because it can be a complex maneuver, requiring state of the art technology. However, maybe to avoid the expense of receiving medical treatment, or the lack of severity of the acne scarring, some who suffer from acne scaring may decide to attempt a home remedy. The tissue which helped to heal the acne is what is seen the most, making the scarring seem worse than it is. The skin tissues are drier and tougher than the surrounding skin. One home remedy which helps in appearance only, is to exfoliate (removing the dead skin cells), so as to regenerate the new skin as quickly and as much as possible. Apply treatments to soften the skin as regularly as possible. Only if you are no longer at risk for can, use small amounts of olive oil, gently rubbing it into your palms and easily/gently smooth the oil onto your face (evenly, in coat smoothing over your entire face). Keep the olive oil on the scarred skin for at least fifteen minutes. Take a steaming, very hot washcloth to gently remove the oil. The next part of this process, involves an oatmeal scrub. An oatmeal scrub will help reduce discoloration by removing dead skin cells. This requires three tablespoons of raw/ ground oats. Put them into your hand, gently massaging it around the moistened skin for about five minutes. Rinse your skin with water, and repeat two times a day. Many people will, in addition to the olive oil and oatmeal, apply an antibacterial massage. This will serve to stimulate the growth of new skin cells, while killing off bacteria and free radicals. Use vitamin E oil on your hand, and add 2 drops of tea tree oil to it. Spread the oils onto your hand, and then gently and easily massage deeply for at least five minutes. When finished, wipe off the oils with a wet washcloth. Another home remedy that some people try, when treating acne scared skin, is to take Biotin. Biotin is very helpful for stimulating growth of hair, nails, and skin. This can be found in any health food store or drug store. The cost if minimal and it works very well. By taking large doses of biotin, this help the skin cells to start to regenerate faster and stronger. As with any supplement or pharmaceutical, especially if nursing or fighting an infection, it is highly recommended that you check with your doctor before taking any of these. Some who have successfully treated their acne scars, use antibacterial massage. Application of an antibacterial massage (such as tea tree oil), will serve to stimulate the growth of new skin cells. At the same time, this will result in the killing off bacteria and free radicals, preventing the possibility of further acne. While there are many types of medical remedies, there are also home remedies for acne scar treatment.
