The new Skifta Engine, which worksseamlessly with the popular Skifta Android application, enablesusers of network attached storage (NAS) drives, storage-based smartrouters and set-top box devices to access, manage and shift mediafrom their smartphones, tablets, Internet-connected channels andlocal media sources, then stream content to any DLNA or UPnP deviceworldwide. The SkiftaEngine software runs on network attached storage drives orstorage-based smart router/gateways and set-top boxes with anembedded JAVA Virtual Machine, and it serves as a central controlpoint for media access, management and shifting.
