We have started the process of identifying potential outstanding candidates for YIF's Class of 2014 -2015, the fourth edition of the ground-breaking multi-disciplinary fellowship that is fostering India's academic, social and business leaders of tomorrow. The Young India Fellowship (YIF) is a one-year multidisciplinary post-graduate programme which brings together a group of bright young men and women from across the country and diverse disciplines and trains them to become socially committed change agents for the future. YIF exposes them to a rich and diverse set of subjects and perspectives, delivered by some of the finest professors and teachers from India and around the world. YIF is delivered in collaboration with University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS), Carleton College, a top liberal arts college in the U.S. and Sciences Po, the top University in Europe in the field of social sciences. The programme seeks to groom young dynamic leaders by helping them develop comprehensive understanding and problem solving skills to tackle problems that our world faces today. It helps the Fellows develop fresh perspectives through field work and exposure to a rich and diverse set of subjects, delivered by some of the finest professors and practitioners from around the world. The Young India Fellowship also has the unique privilege of being mentored by eminent global leaders in various fields on their professional aspirations and personal development goals. The Young India Fellows are a group of 'first among equals', selected through a rigorous and nation-wide search for achievements, passion and the desire to bring about change. Our founding class of 2012 consisted of 58 Fellows, the second batch the class of 2013 comprised 97 Fellows and the present batch, the class of 2014, has 100 young men and women. The Fellows highlight India's geographical diversity and the rich texture of choices made by them. From engineering to fashion design, film to agriculture, medicine to art, and law to journalism, the cross flow of ideas from such varied positions creates best ground for learning. Young India Fellowship offers scholarships to all bright young Indians who are selected through a rigorous selection process. This scholarship to students covers, in full or in part, tuition fees, cost of all material towards academic instruction including text books and also covers boarding and fully furnished lodging.
