I’ve been interested in beads and jewelry for a long time. I learned how to make jewelry from a jewelry DIY book and magazine. I made some jewelry for myself and give them to my friends as a gift. When I go party, I wore my jewelry as usual and some people wanted to know where to get jewelry like mine, some people wanted to buy the piece I’m wearing. I was very delight to know that there are some people who like my design. I decided to buy some tools and supplies and took a various jewelry making class. Then I found out that it is something I can pursue. Jewelry MakerWhen I felt I had sufficient skill, I decided to open an online jewelry shop. GoDaddy.com and PayPal make it easy for me to set up a website. I added a shopping cart and can accept credit card payment. I put my website address in the signatures of all my email I send out to everyone and everywhere. My website appears at the bottom of the page whenever I send an email. It got attention more than I expected. I got order from some people I never met, some wanted to repair jewelry they had and I was very happy to do that. I told my friends and relatives about my site, I sent them gifts from my previous piece I made. Some of them had bought jewelry from me and told their friends who might be interested. They were very supportive and gave me suggestion and encouragement. Some of them posted my jewelry photo at their Facebook pages, that’s really made a difference. As word got out from there, I was invited to present my works at a local craft fair where I met lots of artisan who shared their expertise to me. I had my business cards showing my web address, email address, phone number with description of my business. I placed them in women clothing boutiques, dentist offices, spa, hair salon, and fitness center. I sent a discount coupon to people who bought from me with their complete order. At my website, I offered free earrings as sample to anyone who registered at my site. I took photos of my jewelry, made a slide show with Power Point and uploaded it to YouTube. Those are what I did to increase my sales and get paid for the things I love to do. My website:www.stainlesssteeljeweler.com
