Work pressure and everyday travel to far off places, is something that people living in metropolis like Delhi are fully aware of. These have become the bane for them as their stress level increases and get reflected in their reactive behavior. Whenever they talk with family members, the mind immediately gets tensed and a verbal fight usually ensues. Gradually, people in Delhi and other metropolis are realizing that they need to get back the peacefulness into their mind and body. Such a realization has made people go into the meditation centres found in various parts of Delhi. Even, in many places in India, regular workshops are being organised for people, who want to learn the techniques of meditation and yoga. Practices, which have been existent since ages, are nowadays being brought across to the masses, with sufficient research to back the beneficial claims.

When people meditate by attending classes, they are able to improve their health and also reduce stress. This is possible in different ways in which the meditation works on calming the mind and lowering the body metabolism. After attending such classes, the direct and indirect benefits are clearly visible and comprehensible.

• Guiding through the initiation process – During the meditation classes, people are required to carry out the meditation techniques for an hour or so. Under the expert guidance of the teachers, they understand the process. One cannot get judgmental for the different types of meditation techniques. Without the help of a guide, such a process might put further stress on the learners. In the meditation techniques, it is required that the thoughts are allowed to move freely so that the focus can be brought back at a particular point. If the guidance is not proper, people usually tend to wander off into different dimensions and get exasperated. They need to be told that such dwindling of focus is common with the initiation of the process.

• Group chants elicits positive vibrations – When different courses are organised in India, there are plenty of people in attendance. Meditation techniques elicit positive vibrations. Some of these techniques also involve reciting of mantras or chants. En-masse chanting can be highly relaxing as the chants fall into the ears and flows like a stream through the senses of the body. Many people feel like being washed with sacred water, which is taking away all their stress. These chants are proven through ages to have spiritual and extraordinary vibrations.

• Hearing lectures has calming effect – In the meditation courses, when the teacher or expert speaks, there is a natural flow of words. These words have their impact on the listeners. With continuous practice and meditation, such teachers have attained a level of calmness, which can mould the thought process. Listening to such sermons or lectures on meditation is also quite encouraging. People are transfixed in such sermons and this also provides a serene ambience for carrying out meditation.

• Clarifies doubts about meditation techniques for stress – Meditation can be of varied types, aimed for reducing stress and maintaining a harmonic balance of metabolism. But, people are not required to practice all kinds of techniques. By visiting different classes in Delhi, it becomes easier to select a particular variety, which is most comfortable. Then, they can continue with this particular technique on a daily basis. Since these courses also involve explanations and sermons related to meditation, people are able to comprehend these practices to the fullest and thereby extract the best benefits by doing it in the right way.

• Helps people in getting themselves out of stressful surrounding – A very pragmatic aspect of attending meditation classes in Delhi is the disconnection from outside world. During the learning process, they practice the art to keep their minds focused. After some time of practice, they will stop reacting at slightest of problems and thus keep stress out of life. When the breathing is regular and steady, the blood flow in the body also gets slowed down, as does the heart. During meditation, the body goes into the shell literally. Efforts are directed towards conservation of energy rather than expending it, which is the scenario in stress. As a result of such conservation, hormone levels are lowered and neurotransmitter activity decreases. Most of the excitatory signals are inhibited and the mind and body slows down in the metabolic level. Due to this, the body receives indirect benefit and in the long run, plenty of diseases are either alleviated or reduced to a great degree.

Visiting meditation classes in different parts of India helps in lowering the stress level. This is because the meditation techniques work in different ways to calm the senses. There are also many other benefits of practicing meditation in these classes. If people are able to understand these techniques and the incumbent benefits, they will surely be enthusiastic to attend the classes and incorporate the habits in their day to day living.
