The entertainment world always has something new and exciting to offer us – action, adventure, mystery, intrigue. What about heart? Jeremiah O’Brian offers his audiences heart – miles and miles of heart. Jeremiah is new and exciting and is one gifted actor with a passion for his work. He has a couple of movies coming out this festival season. Look out for ‘Forerunner’ which was the first one to be released. Getting a lot of buzz this festival season, as Jeremiah transforms into an 87 year old man. The actor/ writer Jeremiah O’Brian wrote/ improved most of his dialogue and is the main character of the film. He gives a riveting performance as an elderly man, approximately 87 years of age – completely unrecognizable. You would think that production hired an 80 year old actor and you’d wrong. The makeup and artistry used, was the same used to create J. Edgar with Leo Dicaprio. “It was a real treat; very fun; a rarity to play an older fellow” says Jeremiah. He continued saying that it was one the best experiences he’s had working with the talented team, all around. The designer of the film was Kim Baily, known for his famous works including ‘Alien Resurrection’ (Sigourney Weaver), ‘Mission to Mars’ (Don Cheadle) and ‘Star Trek’ to mention but a few. The film was premiered at the Warner Bros studio in Burbank. So far it has been submitted to the various festivals in the country and the world at large. Some of the people who worked with Jeremiah had a few things to say about him. “He has something street about him - tough, probably from growing up in Compton - that reminds me of Mark Wahlberg.” – Co-Star, Bryan Chesters. Jeremiah has an accent that would typically place him in the Bronx or Brooklyn so “changing from that to a proper British gentleman was certainly a rare treat and challenge.” “He’s a risk taker, like Ed Hardy, and strong like Hugh Jackman. He has presence!” - Director, Christopher He. This is what the man, who created the realistic environment for the actors, had to say about Jeremiah, “When you find a gem, a good one, keep him around. He’s got a bright future ahead of him. Reminds me of a young Brando.” – Kim Bailey. Jeremiah played a British spy (Adam Searl), posing as a journalist to the infiltrate and steal a secret clean energy source from an underground scientist, who has gone into hiding with his daughter following his wife’s murder. The second part that Jeremiah played was that of the older retired spy, approximately 87years of age. When you look at the artistry and transformation you will not believe that those two characters are the same person. The look, the accent, the change of treble in the voice, the physical embodiment of each person with their own individual movement and life history as evidenced in their idiosyncratic traits is simply remarkable. Apart from creating wonderful characters, Jeremiah is also a talented writer who is able to communicate to his audience the way he intended the words, as he wrote them, to compel people through stories. A most compelling aspect of Jeremiah is his duality of talents – funny and sincere, street/ rough and exceptionally smart, high school dropout to Master’s Degree from UCLA, Firefighter and College Instructor and what I found most compelling about his story was that he was an orphan who accomplished all of these goals and to now this amazingly talented actor. I asked Jeremiah, what’s your motto? He unpretentiously says, “Finding the Courage to Succeed” The sky is the limit for this guy. More to come on his second film. Look out for Jeremiah O’Brian!
