Is it possible to begin losing weight while pregnant? If you have concerns about your weight while pregnant you really need to put weight loss during pregnancy out of your mind. You and your baby need good nutrition. You should focus instead of looking after the baby and then work on post pregnancy weight loss instead. Basic Diet Guideline Here’s a basic guide to the types of foods you should eat. Don’t focus on weight loss during pregnancy focus on food nutrition and you may even drop a couple of pounds in the process if you eat well. You want balanced meals with good nutrition. • Vegetables and Fruit – Try to focus on these foods a lot as a part of your diet. They will give you the optimal nutrition that you need for great health and well-being. Try to eat some of these foods at each one of your meals. This may help you with losing weight while pregnant because you’ll be getting optimal nutrition. • Avoid Most Starches – It’s better to avoid white refined flour products such as white rice, white bread, and white pasta. These foods don’t give you the nutrition that your body needs. You need to eat whole grain foods such as brown rice and whole grain bead instead as these give you more nutrition and required fibre. • Protein – Add more protein rich foods to the diet which help to build your muscles and give you good energy. You need more protein for the bay and also if you plan to do some exercise while pregnant. • Dairy – You want to eat cheese, milk, and yogurt, as these give you calcium that you need. You should try to get 2 servings of these foods per day if possible. Supplements When you’re pregnant you may need to take some supplements such as folic acid as this is recommended. If you look after your bod well you may see some weight loss during pregnancy results. Just make sure to combine your supplements with a good diet, plenty of rest, and lots of water. If you have concerns about supplements be sure to talk to your doctor as you’ll get more specific recommendations on what is going to be the best thing for you. You should also consider a calcium supplement if you’re not already taking this when pregnant. You can also get more calcium by eating calcium rich foods such as almonds, canned salmon, or cooked broccoli, in addition to the regular dairy products you’re already eating. Another supplement to consider is a general all-round multivitamin. Don’t focus on weight loss during pregnancy, just focus on looking after your body and your baby. If you eat well you may be surprised that you are losing weight while pregnant but it won’t be much. Instead, focus on the post pregnancy weight loss once you have your child. You need to look after yourself when pregnant if if you want to lose weight while pregnant, be sure to consult with your doctor first.
